Vols never pressed really hard for Howell — for whatever reason. Clearly, Helton is still gathering info on guys and prefers to see some throw, but names to watch include Cade McNamara (a former ND commit), Lance Legendre (who is committed to Kansas but visited UT in early March), Travis Mumphrey, Tauila Tagoviloa. Can UT get seriously in the mix for a guy like Jayden Daniels?

Tuttle seems to be settling in well at nose tackle. Another name to watch at safety is Theo Jackson he's showing some improvement. Offensively, Jordan Murphy is a guy continuing to make some plays.

How does Byrd play like he did in the Army game and then come here and not be able to do anything? I don’t get it

Those games must be riddled with false positives. Kyle Philips gained his fifth star after one if I recall. Philips has looked serviceable, but nothing like a 5 star stud.

Maybe this link will shed some more light on your thoughts about Patrick Reed.

The Villain: Patrick Reed | Tobacco Road Blues

Professional athletes Aaron Rodgers and Sean O'Hair had their reasons for distancing themselves from their families as well. The wife/significant other received much of the blame for it with them just like Justine. Patrick screwed up as a kid. His parents bailed him out along with his AS golf coach. Wonder what led him to have so much anger and desire to prove himself better than everybody else at the one thing he loved? There appear to be some big clues in the article. Doesn't make one or another all right or all wrong. But it takes all parties to sincerely ask for forgiveness of each other for reconciliation to happen. Been there.

Drew Brees also had a strained relationship with his mother after he turned pro. She was an accomplished attorney and eventually committed suicide. I read more about his story because Sergio's new wife is Brees' cousin.

It's sad that Reed can't get along with his family, but I try not to judge either side. I agree that it takes everyone to work at it. I will say that he is the best thing to happen for the US Ryder Cup team. The kid has fire and refuses to lose, and it's why I root for him over other non-American players.
