I think richmond will be improved but not banking on anything drastic. I'll go with he will be solid this yr but not great.

Ryan Johnson is someone in interested to see his jump this yr. he seems to be cemented in the top 5 and looks to have put in a good bit of size this offseason already.

Locklear prob needs some more size to where we can count on him being a force. Still seems on small side in practice pics

Tatum has a high ceiling. Need it to click for him.

Need Smith and Hall back badly especially Smith.

Calbert, Lane, Carvin, Brooks, Jahmir will be wildcards worth keeping an eye on how they progress and look come fall. The first 3 have good size for their age but we need them ready now unfortunately.

Neuhaus just looks too small for what this staff will want.

Admittedly, we need a lot to go right for the OL to be good. But it isn’t a completely hopeless situation.

Ron is at 15-0.

A few more of us are gonna meet him there before the season starts. We've got room if you want. Ron is driving though so take some Dramamine if you get car sick.

It’s tempting but I can’t go higher than 12-2 right now. We will revisit the subject again (several several times I’m sure) before the season starts.

Edit* and that bus is pretty bada$$

i'd imagine all of them will see their fair share of time this fall. it's got to be "all hands on deck" on the O line.

Richmond 5* - I know he has been disappointing..... Butch Jones

Ryan Johnson 4*

Marcus Tatum highly sought after

Locklear we all talked about how good he was gonna be when he signed

If Smith comes back that’s a pretty good starting 5.

I will have to see that to believe it will happen this year, those stupid stars mean nothing to me.

I do however agree on the potential, but I think it will take more than one off season S&C program and a few practices to SEC those boys up now...plus there is no way we get through the season without losing a couple of them and there is no depth besides Carvin and Ollie behind them. Carvin could be a solid contributor, but I just don't see Ollie being ready physically yet.

If your going to have a rough OL your QB better have great pocket presence, be able to move in pocket and Get ball out quick. Russell Wilson does all that. JG based on last yr needs a lot of work on his mental clock.

Helton def will have to earn his $ in yr 1. Weapons are there around the OL. If they can scheme it up right to get ball out quick and move the pocket and get a QB processing things quickly we can score

JG and Chryst both can move so that’s a positive. Sustaining drives is gonna be our issue. We wil need to get 3-5 “chunk” plays a game imo

I don’t think most teams have the same horrible luck (or horrible S&C) that we’ve had the last few years. Surely we won’t have that many catastrophic injuries again this year? I hope.

Right? I don't think that is the norm. It almost has to regress back to a normal amount of injuries. I think this spring has been way closer to the norm than the last 2 or 3 so that is a good sign IMO. Dang it I'm agreeing with you again. :lolabove:

We will need some guys to fill in for sure but other teams go all season without losing their starting OL for the year all the time. Why can’t we? BVS notwithstanding.

If we get into another low-scoring slogfest of a game vs UF this year, and I think we will, I can see Pruitt and this staff finally getting over the hump. I don't think he will have late-game coaching meltdowns like Butch did that caused us to lose extremely winnable games in 2014, 2015, and 2017.

Goes for all other opponents as well, but UF still sucks, and I definitely see that game being tight all the way through the 4th quarter, as usual.

Yeah you should probably be concerned lol

Frankly, I'm past the play tough and compete stage. I want to win, I expect to win and I don't care if we win ugly. I'm not looking for style points. I'm not looking for flash and highlight reels. I'm looking for a team that's sick of losing and finds a way-- any way-- to win. I'm waaaaaaaaaaaay past excuses and looking forward to "next year." Just win. Win now.

There are excuses and there are valid reasons. A reasonable person knows the difference. It is unreasonable to expect many wins this year. It is going to take longer than one off season to fix the worst team in UT history...I don't care if you have a coaching staff cloned from the DNA of The General, Saban, Belichek, Bryant, Lombardi and Walsh.

Who are some guys you think from inherited roster become solid pieces this season with change in staff?

My top 3 are Shamburger, jordan Murphy and Ryan Johnson. Vq seems to think Buchanon Is taking the step which is very nice to hear.

i didn't use chandler because seems obvious

any/all of the offensive linemen, and any/all of the DB's.:)

i think Johnson and Williams both have shot at making impact at WR.

i think buchannon, Warrior and Shamburger can make impact in the defensive backfield

and Taylor and Bituli at LB (i'd like to include Sapp here as well........)

and i'd love to see Kongbo and Phillips make a big impact on the line.

Coedsforpruitt is a guy I have on ignore, but he gets quoted a lot unfortunately.

IIRC, he's a troll that showed up during the Jordan Young fiasco. Pretty blatant FSU troll.

Being a troll is bad enough, but how gutless do you have to be to not even own it - trying to come in here like a UT fan initially.

And we're not even FSU rivals. I mean, sorry not sorry about that whole National Championship thing back 20 years ago, but wouldn't you have more fun trolling a rival ACC teams forum? Or if you wanted to be a pest at an SEC school - why not Florida?

What a miserable existence you have to have to find entertainment trolling a fan forum of a university that really has little to no direct relevance to your own team.

agreed. i'm pretty optimistic overall about the next few years, even though i think the ceiling may be about 7 for this year upcoming.

and i'm far from reaching a reaction to the 2019 cycle.... in April....but...i do think there is a real opportunity to have a really HUGE 2020 class, regardless of how this cycle turns out.

I think Kyle Phillips, Richmond and most of the returning WRs.

I would say on D it will be Taylor, Kongbo and Philips and on offense JG, Richmond and Latrell. I think there will be more that's just my top 3 on both sides. Leaving out the obvious like Bituli and Warrior.

Yeah he is a troll. guess he forgot that he already outed himself as another teams fan before. Heck the name speaks for itself that henis fsu guy

That's bait..

Nope. Being serious.

You can not take my joy away from me. Regular season plus bowl game I think we have 8 wins total.

Elite recruiters who display progress on the field, elite resources at Tennessee, plus elite recruits seeing chance for virtual immediate playing time = very good class coming up.
