Feeling better about Richmond, his head seems in the right place

Looks like those guys were given a list of things not to talk about. Him being the only offensive player selected to talk with the media has to be taken as a positive though.

Not really recycled. His first stint at MSU was good, so Texas hired him. Then he got fired and had to start all over. Went back to MSU, where he was still good. Got hired by Richt.

I don't know if they will be able to recruit, but MSU has a couple of really smart coaches down there with Moorhead and Shoop.

Agree. Both those guys are very intellectual coaches. I’m interested to see the kind of teams they field there.

Maleik Gray at CB is a nice little development. Long, rangy guy that Pruitt seems to prefer on the outside.

Will be an interesting follow there.

Somebody asked Pruitt about lack of Music. He said he has only so many hours of practice and would like for them to hear what he is saying.

Ok. But they are already recycling these guys. My prediction is he is average to below average and leaves in a couple years one way or another.

I’m kind of thinking the same. I think the situation here was especially perfect for things to get toxic for Shoop. But I think there are a lot of factors that made Shoop overrated before he got here, too.

Offensively, Franklin was always willing to slow things down and win ugly before he hired Moorehead. That helps a defense in a lot of ways.

Shoop’s Co-DC up until his time at Tennessee turned out to be a pretty damn good DC in his own right. Pry focused on the front 7 and Shoop took care of the defensive backfield. Doing both seemed to be a little overwhelming for Shoop at times.

During his time at Vandy, they had some of the best luck imaginable when it came to their schedule. They got some of the worst offenses UT has had to play against (the one good one they played happened to be mutinying against Dooley the week of the Vandy game). They always managed to get teams like UGA or UF when everybody on their offense was injured.

The results he got at Vandy we’re still pretty impressive and all, but I think too much of it was attributed to Shoop, in hindsight. It will be interesting to see what he can get out of the guys at MSU.

The elevator of that job is now at Florida. Back to cellar dweller status.

The elevator analogy is seemingly accurate, more so when you look at Mullen's pass offense performance over the course of his tenure at State.

National rankings compared to us:

Looks like CB & O-line are the worst depth wise on this team.

Safety seems to be ok with Byrd there and if T.K. is able to play.

Hey yo Ron,

After one of the practices you posted some nuggets from TOS from a poster stating they were at practice. Got anymore of that?

Man I'm really enjoying how old school Pruitt seems to be. No gimmicks, no bull butter, just a ball coach.

Agreed. He also mentioned that the offense has had more juice the last couple days and it seems to be spreading with them. I wonder if that has to do with reports of jg being more of a vocal leader the last week. If so I wonder who on the defense is gonna step up and take on more leadership to get them going. It only takes a couple of good leaders to get that attitude to spread. Then real strides can be made.
