Should Sinclair media lose all media licensing for this?

I'll try to find the mash up. You can probably chase it down. It is very disturbing, to say the least.

When an owner forces stations to read propaganda, word for word, we are in uncharted waters. Some sort of action is necessary to prevent it. Right or left.

Here is the script that is reportedly being pushed.

Hi, I’m(A) ____________, and I’m (B) _________________…

(B) Our greatest responsibility is to serve our Northwest communities. We are extremely proud of the quality, balanced journalism that KOMO News produces.

(A) But we’re concerned about the troubling trend of irresponsible, one sided news stories plaguing our country. The sharing of biased and false news has become all too common on social media.

(B) More alarming, some media outlets publish these same fake stories… stories that just aren’t true, without checking facts first.

(A) Unfortunately, some members of the media use their platforms to push their own personal bias and agenda to control ‘exactly what people think’…This is extremely dangerous to a democracy.

(B) At KOMO it’s our responsibility to pursue and report the truth. We understand Truth is neither politically ‘left nor right.’ Our commitment to factual reporting is the foundation of our credibility, now more than ever.

(A) But we are human and sometimes our reporting might fall short. If you believe our coverage is unfair please reach out to us by going to KOMOnews.com and clicking on CONTENT CONCERNS. We value your comments. We will respond back to you.

(B) We work very hard to seek the truth and strive to be fair, balanced and factual… We consider it our honor, our privilege to responsibly deliver the news every day.

(A) Thank you for watching and we appreciate your feedback

That's actually not bad. There are definitely agendas being pushed on both sides. Question is will they be deliver on the promise of balance or will they be just like the others?

I purposely offered no opinion on content. But I read it and figured it was worth adding to the discussion.

ORDERING all the local stations to read political propaganda IS "that bad."

I am dismayed that there is not universal disgust on the board at this action by Sinclair.

How many times have you seen our side complaining about the cross linking of articles on CNN, MSNBC, Mother Jones, Esquire, Vanity Fair, WaPo, NYT, etc... back to a singular article with “anonymous sources”?

Consider that singular comment and then go back and read that script in that context.

But but but a franchise owner of multiple McDonalds shouldnt be able to sell the same items for the same price at EVERY McDonalds they own! That is unchartered territory!!!

Now I’ll add a comment. I’ve pretty much HAD IT with this cross linking crap maximizing media saturation tracing back to a freaking article with “anonymous sources”. If a journalist puts a story out there as fact without anyone’s ability to verify the veracity of the content that isn’t news. That is conjecture. And I’m blaming both sides of it but I’ll damn sure state CNN is the going away king of the anonymous source article.

If nobody can verify your data then it can’t be claimed as factual.

I'm dismayed that those with such disgust aren't banding together to simply buy out Sinclair.

Sinclair is actually about to add 40 more stations to their inventory also. They are dominant by a huge margin.

I guess if you can’t beat/buy ‘em smear ‘em.

Do a quick web search. Sinclair has been getting hammered for over a year from commentary on the opposite side of the aisle. I wonder if they finally got sick of this **** and fired a shot back?🤔

The cowardly media can always fall back on the need to protect sources ... if there are any, since no one can force them to disclose and make them verifiable. If all else fails, there's also "freedom of the press" and "free speech". It's great to have privileges (like access and the ability to hide sources and, therefore, the non questioned validity of source material including selective editing) with no accompanying responsibilities - like telling the damn truth.
