You do realize that the Pope is the ultimate head of your religion, right?

It was Augustine's view, fifteen hundred years ago. The Church considers him as a doctor of the church.

Augustine's position is that evil doesn't exist. As such, there can be no place that is not good. Thus, there is no hell, if hell is the pure absence of good. Thus, at worst, there's purgatory. Those souls not worthy of purgatory are simply destroyed.

Which is in direct opposition to the a holy bible...like much Catholic dogma and doctrine. They get so much wrong, as measured against Gods word, it's easier to just list what they get right:

They pray to the God of Isaac and Jacob, and at least claim to believe in Jesus Christ.

The list of all the crap thats NOT biblical that they add to scripture and worship is longer than a city block, and will put many, many Catholics in Hell unfortunately. ImO

List what they get wrong. I bet you can't do it without misinterpreting at least one part of catholic dogma and doctrine.

I don't have a problem with religion being taught in a historical context, but if you want to get into the laws of western civilization, you might want to start with the Hammurabi code, not Christianity.

It would be hard to teach history effectively without touching on religion.
