Honestly, I hate the gimmicks and the once a year checker Neyland. I loved it the first time and it was beautiful but it diminishes doing it too frequently. Singing Rocky Top and the V O L S VOLS GO VOLS GO and getting loud in third down and loud every down to disrupt the other team and wearing ORANGE is what I want to do and see. Screw the gimmicks and let’s hear some cracks and hits.

This. Minus the Smokey Greys, they're bad ass!! If you don't like them, you're lying to yourself, best looking alternative uni in history!

Well considering that our governor is trying to ramrod himself as president and reconfigure the BOT.....uh no it’s not over.

I don't follow. You said the issue was with them making the hires. As long as Pruitt is our coach and one they didn't make that hire so I don't see how they are an issue until we need a new coach.

He wins 7 games and he’s gone to Bama...gonna need one! :)

don't hear any music at all during practice. Would be interesting to know what the players really think about the new way. Apparently some were spoiled previously.

I just hope this new board that will be appointed by the outgoing governor won't have an agenda to get Fulmer. If Charlie Anderson isn't on the board I'm afraid that will say a lot.

Because since Dickey left we started prioritizing facilities and comfort instead of winning.

Until our decisions are about winning and not about letting a donor pick the coach we will be stuck unless we just get super lucky.

I get that. I just meant in the term of on field product. How do the Haslam’s affect what recruits we land & how Pruitt coaches?

Help me out.

Why is the important for football?

Good or bad?

Alleged Haslam power play. The governor appoints 65% of the total 11. He has designs to be UT president. UT president and handpicked BOT ain’t good for Daddy’s enemies. Which presently includes Fulmer and Beverly.

I see it as they want to regain control of "their" football program and university. Anderson and Fulmer won out in this last battle but I don't think the war is over. Even if the football program thrives under Pruitt and Fulmer, I don't think they'll hesitate to blow up a good thing if it means they can regain their power.

Assuming having us over Mizzou, Kentucky, and Vandy means us winning those games, I say it's reasonable. No way this team suffers through another 4-8 or even 5-7 campaign, unless there are truly awful jobbings by the refs this year. We have the talent to go bowling and to do so, beat those three SEC teams and sweep our cupcakes.

~40th in the country kinda sucks considering there are ~65 P5 teams, but there are going to be the impressive G5'ers that no one truly wants a piece of. 15 spots out of the notoriety of the top-25 after the first year should be enough to show promise and get the ball rolling in recruiting.

Where is this great bowling talent you speak of? The OL is total garbage without Smith, and the DL is just about as bad. Lb depth sucks, not that the best Lbs we have very good to start either, on top of that the DBs suck outside of Warrior, the WRs are not very good, and the QBs couldn't get it to them much even if they were all NFL talent, finally RB is Chandler and a cord of meh unless Banks really shows out...convince me where this talent is, and do not use the garbage ratings they got out of HS.

Thanks. Makes sense

To be fair, it's hard to tell what exactly we have at a lot of positions because of how toxic the situation in our program has been for the last 2 years or so.

Declaring the whole team (minus 3 or 4 guys) to suck and for that to be the end of it is pretty short sighted and closed minded. We've seen a lot of guys on the team flash at times or show that, at the least, there are some things that they can do well.

I don't expect Pruitt and this staff to turn this roster into iron men and maximize everyone's potential in one offseason, but assuming that none of them can or will be any better than what they showed in 2017 is equally unrealistic.

Some of you are just totally missing the system change altogether. There is no way to predict future results from the results of a failed system brought from CMU. Pointless exercise. The only question is whether this staff will have 45+ guys that will be developed to do what they need them to do. The players and even the ex-players know what is happening is the right thing to win. They saw enough of the losing way to do things.

We will have a lot better idea after a game or two. Right now it is all guess work (way more than usual). If our OL is garbage, the rest of the team may not matter that much. However, I have a feeling they will find a way to put something together that is decent.
