I tried to argue that on Facebook and some of my liberal friends had a problem. They said what if she was proud of her heritage. I told them that according to them that is nationalism and that we shouldn’t be beholden to a piece of cloth or at least that is what they told us.

Everyone occasionally chooses to break the law. Sometimes they break laws they don't agree with and sometimes they even break laws they do agree with.
People also follow laws with which they both agree and disagree.

They do not want to take away firearms from law abiding citizens. They want to keep certain types of firearms from as easily making it into the hands of would be criminals. They want to keep LEO armed because, even though not 100% effective, provides protection.

You're smarter than that. You're a parent. Kids don't always follow the rules. Adults are no different. That will NEVER mean there should be no rules (laws) and punishments for breaking those rules (laws).

So you agree that the criminals will still acquire everything that you are wanting to ban (bad children) and that the law abiding citizens will be the only ones to follow the laws (good children). So you are all about punishing those who follow the law so you can feel safer?

You will still have the firearms you currently have and will be able to purchase any firearm not banned. How is that taking firearms from law abiding citizens. Just because you can't have all does not mean you can't have any.

It's not ALL or NOTHING. Which is the way you guys keep trying to portray it.

Yes it is all or nothing. Automatic weapons were already banned. Why not set the precedence for free speech and expression to be restricted too. I think any speech against conservative principles should be banned. This speech lends itself toward communist ideologies which has killed 240 million plus. See how easy that is?

But there is still gun violence in the UK. Btw, way to cherry pick. Let’s talk about France who has even stricter gun laws and a larger problem with gun violence. Why isn’t gun control working there?

Why didn’t the murder rate fall off after the UK banned certain classes if firearms? Why did knife attacks increase? Why won’t you admit that government bans don’t work? Why are you being intellectually dishonest with everyone in this board?
