#BoycottNRA

I would have no problem with them adding a mental health component to the checks.

What does it matter? Someone intent on killing will kill. If not with a gun, it’ll be a bomb, or a truck. No law or background check will stop that. It will simply get in the way of the law abiding, like every other law that is supposedly for the good of the citizenry.

Yes it should but just like with guns if you harm another person or their property the penalties should be extremely stiff.

I see the consistency. And the converse is also consistent. Most people disagree with you on the drunk driving front. Consistency would lead them to disagree with you on the gun front also. That is the way this is all moving.

That doesn't answer the question I asked. I asked should it be legal? What do you think?

Let's say yes. It should be.

What does that mean to the millions that do it? Just like the millions that disregard speed limits. The law is not preventing it. It just sets the guidelines for what happens if you get caught or harm someone doing it.

Do you think the illegality reduces the number of people driving drunk?

"The living rent free in your head" comment has long surpassed its impactfullness. It now just sounds silly.

It fits here if it ever fit anywhere. "OMG, did you see where the NRA isn't for more gun restrictions!" "It's unbelievable"

And no, we re not "laughing with you".

If you think it doesn't, then your are crazy.

I know several people that avoid it specifically because of drug testing at their place of employment.

Which is interesting considering you can crash inebriated and die (We 've all heard the stats since high school) but millions choose to do so in spite of the law and it's repercussions.

It's almost like people that want to kill people are not worried about the legality of it.
