#BoycottNRA

Big jump from 999, so I like it. Still seems a little high. But as you may remember, I don't know much about it. How about we let some knowledgeable people from both sides sit down and reach a reasonable and rational compromise?

Much? You don’t know anything, thus you’re not to be taken seriously.

And that makes you no different than any other gun grabbing politician out there.

But, now that you've admitted to not knowing WTF you are talking about, perhaps you won't even attempt to add to the conversation any longer until you get educated.

1. The current involvement of youth will not only continue but grow.

2. It will be considered one of the big factors in the '18 landslide elections.

3. Politicians will realize that a hard line pro-gun stance is the surest way to defeat.

4. Democratic congress will put forth legislation.

5. Common sense (or self-preservation) will prevail.

Nice list.

He's said many times in the past that he isn't going to educate himself on the subject. Most of the people on his side are the same way. They just want to "do something".

The place that they get their news won't tell them that "something" was done in the omnibus bill Friday, so they are oblivious to it and if they did know. They will continue to say its not enough until all guns are banned.

The irony of number 5 is off the charts.

Said the same thing with Occupy Wall Street.

Said the same thing with Black Lives Matter

Said the same thing with Hillary in 2016.

Don't hold your breath there because you're probably in for another heaping steaming spoonful of sadness, failure, rage, hatred, and butthurt.

On a different note and off topic, Why are liberals and democrats so miserable? Why so much hate and anger always? Just curious.

Not possible considering all the knowledgeable people are on the same side in this debate. The other side can't even define their favorite buzz word.

Hate to break it to you, but have you looked at the senate maps for ‘18 and ‘20? Democrats have little to no chance of retaking the senate in either year. But let’s say that somehow they pull off a miracle and retake the senate. How are they going to overcome a senate filibuster? How would they muster the votes to override a presidential veto?

That's making the false assumption that all repubs. will remain in lockstep with the NRA. They aren't. that's going to be the biggest change. What do you think the repub. senators will do when they become convinced that a hard line pro gun stance actually hurts. their chance of being reelected?

Who says it greatly hurts their chances of being re-elected? Hell dems just won a special house election where their candidate had to run as pro gun or he couldn’t have won.

That rate of fire that can be attained by only manual manipulation of the trigger.

This would include revolvers and semi-autos. Of course, that's what we have now so...

That's where high capacity magazines come into play.

Didn't hurt them in 2014 or 2016...

I've already defined it. Any gun that will fire more than x rounds per y seconds. We just need to assign some reasonable and rational numbers to x and y.

I'll start. 1000 rounds per second is to much and one round per hour is to few. Now all we have to do is work inward to agreement.

I truly believe that you fully understand how stupid this sounds yet just get a kick out of saying it.

That's so insanely stupid. You tell me, what's the problem with having representatives from both sides of the debate coming to a compromise on the legally allowed rounds per second that a gun can fire. That gets over the ridiculous hurdle you guys keep bringing up about defining an assault weapon. Magazine capacity would also be on the table.

Ok. I’ll tell you what, tell Democrats to run on a platform of raising taxes on the “rich” and gun control. See how that works out for them.

The smart dems are running away from some of the planks in the platform b/c they've realized the repub oligarchs have been beating 'em over the head with 'em. OBTW alt -righties,not all dems are progressives or liberals.
Cutting taxes in the face of a $21T deficit is  W. did it and he caused the Great Recession. :loco:
