Big jump from 999, so I like it. Still seems a little high. But as you may remember, I don't know much about it. How about we let some knowledgeable people from both sides sit down and reach a reasonable and rational compromise?
1. The current involvement of youth will not only continue but grow.
2. It will be considered one of the big factors in the '18 landslide elections.
3. Politicians will realize that a hard line pro-gun stance is the surest way to defeat.
4. Democratic congress will put forth legislation.
5. Common sense (or self-preservation) will prevail.
And that makes you no different than any other gun grabbing politician out there.
But, now that you've admitted to not knowing WTF you are talking about, perhaps you won't even attempt to add to the conversation any longer until you get educated.

Hate to break it to you, but have you looked at the senate maps for 18 and 20? Democrats have little to no chance of retaking the senate in either year. But lets say that somehow they pull off a miracle and retake the senate. How are they going to overcome a senate filibuster? How would they muster the votes to override a presidential veto?
That's making the false assumption that all repubs. will remain in lockstep with the NRA. They aren't. that's going to be the biggest change. What do you think the repub. senators will do when they become convinced that a hard line pro gun stance actually hurts. their chance of being reelected?

I've already defined it. Any gun that will fire more than x rounds per y seconds. We just need to assign some reasonable and rational numbers to x and y.
I'll start. 1000 rounds per second is to much and one round per hour is to few. Now all we have to do is work inward to agreement.

Ok. Ill tell you what, tell Democrats to run on a platform of raising taxes on the rich and gun control. See how that works out for them.
