Is that really Majors? For one, I can't picture him actually emailing someone, being that he's in his mid to late 80's. I also don't pay him much attention when it comes to what his opinion is on Tennessee's head football coach. He's been a fan of every coach we've had except Phil.

Gundy wouldn’t come because of academics??????

I've read a ton of the source material and I have yet to see anything on that. What I have seen is that Currie was courting Gundy hard and there was mention that Fulmer was super-excited about it. Currie talks to Gundy like it's a done deal "I'm on the plane that's going to take you back to Knoxville..." and everything looks to be roses but then it suddenly stops.

It may be hidden in another batch of info. but until I find it I HIGHLY doubt that Gundy gave a flip about academics.

They knew Doeren was a bad hire but they were gonna do it anyway.

Thankfully we have someone in charge who cares now.

"Gu," "Gru," "G," "d," "n," maybe if I squint I can get the name right.

This search went from “hire the guy I’m being told to hire” to “let’s hire anyone who can fog up a mirror.”

At no point was Currie looking to do what is best for UT football.

I’d love to know his side of this.

Looking back after a few months out, he had to believe he had Mullen in his back pocket the entire year. And I think it might’ve been true. Then Chip takes the UCLA job and the dominoes begin to fall.

Panicking and turning to Greg Schiano was the problem - obviously. If at that point he decides to go to Brohm or Norvell - even if the fanbase may have been slightly disappointed - he’d still have a job.

Almost like he was trying to punish the fans for screwing up Haslams plan.

Toby from The Office was an awful idea.

I don’t think he turned to Schiano. I think it was always Schiano. Just slow played the Mullen thing until he was off the board then went and got who he was always gonna get.

Pretty sure JCP is a girl. At least, I hope she is.

The mystery of all this will unravel when some folks that like to research start digging deeper. A lot of what was said in this release will have ties to other documents and releases. IMO, Ziti is right on target with the Haslam/Currie tie. I have already posted numerous articles about Haslam's ties and man love for Schiano. A lot of it flows through OSU and Jimmy's ties with his NFL cronies. Currie is nothing but a flunky who aligned with Haslam back when he was in the UTAD previously. Blackburn and Fulmer were aligned differently. Personally, I think Jimmy Haslam thinks the world he is in now is far superior to UT and his roots. He would sell us out in a second after the Pilot criminal trial meltdown.

Which leads back to Brother Bill potentially becoming UT President and the attempt to reduce the BOT size and appointment process. Vote wisely for Governor in November. It's their natural move to reassert control over UT, which would continue to make the school subservient.

Of course, I think the General Questions and Doeren Questions can legitimately be asked about all of Fulmer’s final candidates as well.

Interesting tidbit. Apparently, Davenport was going to make the BAMA trip but was talked out of it.

Looking more and more like Bev and a few others were ready to fire Butch before Currie was ready. That probably explains all the mixed messages we got about *when* Jones was being fired.

This. If we allow Bill all the changes he wants to make from tenure and standard evals (which would turn UT into ITTech) and cutting the BoT in half so he can pack it with cronies we have won the battle but lost the war.

The Haslams are retaliating now and if we don't stand up they'll take control again and we will all be worse off for it.

Easiest way to get a like from me. :)
