evan berry responding in his own words with what brb and i have been saying for years on here. It's always better to play guys in positions that are natural to them that they like to play. Evan ran effortlessly with the ball in his hands. He has good hands and sees the field extremely well. Only doofuses such as butch would make him play back-up safety. Same with forcing coleman thomas to play ot as a freshman, byrd to play slot, gaulden to play nb, etc. When you do that stuff you are messing with a guy's life and career. It's no wonder he played the wrong guys when he had better players sitting on the bench. He didn't know any better.
Word is T.Byrd has got to show more if he wants to stick at CB. And thats not a rumor from a message board. Hope he proves to the coaches when the pads come on that he is a fit.

Unfortunately it could be too late for him if his head has become too messed up from the Butch years. Hope not. Hope he balls out at the position.
I know some on here have been in love with Byrd from the get-go and don't want to see the truth. I also know it's easy and trendy to blame the coaches for everything, but his problems have been primarily his own fault.
Thus far he's been a bust, mainly because of his attitude. I and others have posted examples on here before. Would not surprise me at all if he doesn't cut it on defense either.
Hopefully the new staff can wake him up.
Keep having kids on campus for visits. I am not a believer in taking a guys just to take a guy to get momentum. There are guys out there that Pruitt and Co. could get committed right now, but he's not going to take a guy just to generate some buzz in my opinion.
