Josh Smith with the highlight of Pro Day, a diving, one-handed catch on a long pass.

Bears and Titans spending lots of time with Kelly, while Robertson talked a bunch with a coach from Denver.

Quick notes on Kendrick: Felt like he had a good day, especially with drills. Trained up in Cincy and lost 25 LBs of fat, gained 10 pounds of muscle. Weighed in at 304 today. Benched 225 26 times. Has visits lined with Colts, Texas and San Fran. Headed to Nashville to train with Zach Piller.

The number of players working pro day at positions other than what the last staff had them playing is sadly hilarious.

John Kelly ran routes with the receivers and tight ends and now is doing some solo RB drills with someone from the Bears while other drills are going on.

Elliott Berry is doing drills with the defensive backs.

Another hot take on recruiting, I think Pruitt is losing the negative recruiting battles at the moment.

People can easily say: “Pruitt’s a great coach, but he doesn’t have HC experience. That fanbase wants to win right away and Pruitt is up against a tough schedule with a less than perfect roster. The fanbase will turn on him quickly if he doesn’t deliver. You want to commit to a guy that may not be your coach for your four years of school? Look at how the turnover has killed the five stars that have committed there. Most have not been developed because of coaching turnover. Come to a more stable situation!”

I still believe we need to sell out for a “home run hire” to end our rut. I’m not confident Pruitt gets it done. But I fully support him and the team!

It would be hypocritical of Kirby to run that garbage, considering he was in the same boat recently.

Haven’t been keeping up. But seems the consensus. I hate it but I think Pruitt is toast if we miss a bowl game this year. I just really feel the pressure is on him this first year in a way that it wasn’t for the last two coaches.

UGA recruiting like Bama sure doesn’t help...

That's a stretch at best. Pruitt will get at least 4 years no matter what. The doom and gloom on Pruitt already setting in around here is ridiculous, good grief. Hasn't even coached a practice yet. Vol "fans" are out of control.

The man has been on the job a few months and hasn't coached a single practice but we're already calling him "toast"? smh

I’m not saying that’s where I am. I hope he’s the guy! Just saying what I’m betting these recruits are hearing.

We’ve still got tons of time and a lot can happen that can turn this class around, though. So I’m not panicking. I won’t until we get to July/August and see where things sit.

Gonna fire a guy after one year when we didn't win an SEC game last year?

Huh?

I didn’t say he is toast right now. But I think he will be if he misses a bowl this fall. I think the fanbase is on full checkout mode if he misses a bowl. Not Pruitt’s fault. And may not be fair for him to have that pressure. I just think that’s where we are as a program and athletics department - on the verge of some serious apathy.

Enough hot takes from me today. On jury duty and waiting for my number to be called. Was really here for the pro day updates, so thanks for providing them.

For the defendant's sake I hope you don't get picked.

Well Kirby would never do anything hypocritical so we are safe there. Lol. I would venture that Kirby is doing anything and everything he can to out recruit every other team out there. If he isn't selling that line about UT, I will be very shocked.

Final clarification. Not fire him after one year. Just think it will hold down his recruiting, which will make it harder for him to dig out of the rut going forward particularly with our biggest rivals either doing exceptionally well (Bama/UGA) or potentially on the recovery (Florida). I’m not sure the fanbase has the patience for it anymore. The Schianomo didn’t happen to watch our team go 5-7 and finish with top 25ish recruiting classes.

But lots of time to go!

No offense but these "fans", if they exist, can go cheer for Bama then. They won't be missed.

Phil Fulmer hand picked Jeremy Pruitt and has given him everything he needs to succeed and will continue to do so. Fulmer won't be pulling the plug early because a small portion of our fanbase forgets to take their meds.

Definitely agree with your sentiment there. I just meet so many fans here in Atlanta that are taking a much more wait and see approach with Pruitt than a full buy in approach. I’m not saying they will riot if he loses. I just think they will stop paying attention, and that will be noticed in declining ticket sales.

Right now I can kind of see it both ways with Pruitt. I could see him inspiring a team that has more talent than one might think to a surprisingly good season and solid bowl, along with a shocker win along the way (Bama? Auburn?). But I could also see possible injuries compounding a lack of depth and a new scheme, and that hampering us in close, early season losses to WVU and UF and things spiraling from there. I wouldn’t personally hold it against Pruitt, but I can’t control what others think.

Will be a fascinating season. I plan to be at the WVU game and hopefully some others (Auburn?). Pruitt has my full support.

Yeah...they’re “toast”.

VN: "OFFFFFF WITH HIS HEAD!!"

Ron: "We haven't even had a single practice."

VN: "Sentence first. Verdict afterwards."

Ron: "Don't you think Pruitt should get a small chance. Hmm?"

VN: "Fine. But if I we don't like spring practice..."
