I wouldn't go that far. I married one, and she's a pretty amazing person. Honestly, liberals and conservatives both want what they think is best for the country. They sometimes even agree on what that is. Mostly they disagree on how to get there. There are terrible people to be found on both sides.

Sheriff: Boy Shoots Sister in Video Game Controller Dispute - The New York Times

Authorities in Mississippi say a 9-year-old boy has shot his 13-year-old sister in the head and wounded her after an argument over a video game controller.

Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell told local news outlets that the girl wouldn't give up the video game controller when her brother wanted it on Saturday. He says the boy shot the girl in the back of the head and that the bullet entered her brain.

The girl was rushed to Le Bonheur's Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Details of her condition weren't immediately known Sunday afternoon.

Authorities say they don't yet know how the firearm used in the shooting had been accessed. The sheriff added that the circumstances of the shooting are still being investigated.

The Association of New Jersey Rifle & Pistol Clubs (ANJRPC) said in a letter that the school’s policies allow suspending students for up to a year if they are "reported to be in possession of a weapon of any type for any reason or purpose on or off school grounds."

This should frighten anyone with more than two active brain cells. I don't care where you stand on the firearm issue you should find it absolutely unacceptable that the government could reach this far into your private life. EVERYBODY associated with that rule or this suspension should be jobless even as I type this.

Possession​ ​of​ ​Weapons

In accordance with the Safe Schools Initiative, the Zero Tolerance For Guns Act, P.L. 1995 and its companion C.128 and the Lacey Township School Board’s Zero Tolerance Policy, any student who is reported to be in possession of a weapon of any type for any reason or purpose whether on or off school grounds during the academic year shall be disciplined as follows:

A. Long term suspension.
B. Evaluation by the high school Child Study Team.
C. Recommendation by the administration to the Board of Education for suspension for at least 1 year.
