Football wise we are a mid tier program and these guys better coach their butts off because we are getting our tails handed to us so far on the recruiting trail since the early signing period. I am losing my optimism.

We really need a high profile recruit to commit and help recruit. Don't get me wrong I really appreciate any recruit who commits but let's be honest high profile players aren't coming here because of Lampley. Something has to give or we are starting another middle of the pack SEC recruiting class.

I think CJP has been shocked by the state of the football program. IDT he ever dreamed a program with this level of resources and recruiting could have been so poorly managed. He doesn't seem all that impressed with the quality of the roster and was stunned that they might not have enough healthy players to field a traditional spring game for the sixth year in a row. I just don't think he has a lot of positive things to say right now. Quieter is better.

I think football is further down than fans would like to admit, and the LVs just went over the cliff. MBB has improved under CRB and that's been awesome to see. But several players commented that the Vols' early exit from the NCAAT was a huge disappointment that kept the season from being great, and I agree with them. It was our chance to break through in a marquee sport and we couldn't get it done. So once again, we're back to "next year."

I know we only care about revenue producing sports, but many of the others appear to be doing well. I don't see that as being in the "Pit of Misery." Granted last year in football was terrible. But, there were 5 football games in 2016 and all season this year in basketball that were a ball to watch. First time in several years that has happened.

We can't change the past, and I believe the future is looking better.

And we thought we had hit rock bottom with Dooley 5 years ago...

Braves should be better but think 2019 can be the start of something special. But honestly, none of us is over that loss. Will hurt for a little while. GBO

Braves will be okay. They’ve gotta get some better pitching to be special in 2019. Just never know with prospects

At least we did not get run out of the gym like UNC did. That made me smile today, at least. It is very little consolation, but I will take it where I can get it.

Our two most historically successful programs have been in a decade of decline. The view is always upward from the bottom, but it's a long way up. On the bright side, if you want good seats for football or WBB, you're in luck.

I’m not panicking, but not impressed at all yet.

I’ve had a coach who could talk game before. Show me recruits and wins

Kids seem to be visiting and promptly running the other way

I'm in wait and see mode but we aren't closing on high profile guys. I personally believe that Pruitt is a respected coach and recruits are listening but just aren't buying in at this time. That needs to change and soon!

This is the wackiest toureny ever. Won't even be worth watching come next wknd. All the good teams getting knocked out

Baseball America had a good article on It. Next year is a deep free agent pool and we will only have 38 million committed in payroll.
