#BoycottNRA

No, it's about pushing a political ideology on a corporation.

If you think that a Lt. Governor with his eye on the big desk, or a multi-billion dollar corporation like Delta gives a fiddle-sh*t about "political ideology", then you need to move off the mushroom farm and watch how the big dogs do business. Especially in cities like Atlanta.

It's all about the money, hoss. Or the votes, which cost money. Political ideology is left to those who don't have either one.

I know...cold, cruel world out here.

Oh, that's never happened before.

In our society you know big money talks. It's like Koch industries saying they would layoff people if a democrat won. I would say a similar message from Delta might keep this in the headlines until the state caves. It is an election year.

Except they didn't say that.

Actually I think it was more tit for tat

Delta: “we strongly disagree with the NRA and support more gun control”

GA Reps: “hey dumbasses you live in a red pro gun state stay the hell in your lane”

And in the end they will both be smiling in public, locked in arms, while singing kumbaya

I don't think Delta will ever offer the NRA incentive that probably didn't add to their bottom line to begin with. What are they getting from the NRA. Any kind of loyalty from NRA members because they offered a discount to travel to the Rally, will give way to the which airline is cheapest. A boycott delta would also be of no consequence when the very nature is to try to travel cheap.

There will be no reconciliation between Delta and the NRA but Delta and Georgia will work it out.

Fed Ex has stated it will not boycott the NRA and continue to work with them despite other companies pulling out.

No, it's about Delta pushing a political agenda. If you're going to push a political ideology, then you shouldn't get tax breaks.

Delta is pushing a political agenda by returning to a neutral position?

I find it fascinating that those who want to see the swamp drained are also OK with politicians using tax payers dollars to leverage & extort a partisan position from a private corporation that wants to be neutral.

Give "our" people a break on prices or we'll withhold money through tax incentives. LOL, I hope Delta packs up their sht and moves.

The closing paragraph of this article pretty much hits the nail on the head:

"Still, in my view, the most telling aspect of the lieutenant governor’s post is the way it affirms the charge that corporate tax cuts aren’t an economic policy, so much as a form of legal bribery: If Casey Cagle believes that the primary beneficiary of the jet-fuel tax cut isn’t Delta — but rather, the people of Georgia — why would he inflict harm on his own constituents just because he’s offended by the airline’s public-relations strategy? And if he doesn’t believe the people of Georgia stand to benefit from giving Delta a $40 million tax cut, then why did he ever support that giveaway in the first place?"

We're usually a loyal bunch in general.

The best part of this is.

Watching Liberals who deny Hobby Lobby can have 1st Am rights now preach about Deltas 1st Am rights.

That's not what Delta said, at all - it's not even close.

The GA politicians are using Delta to score cheap political points with their base.

Delta stepped in it on this one as they seem to be the highest profile company being discussed among all the others that ended the discount. Delta is in the business of flying people from point A to point B. That's the only business they need to be in. If they choose to end a discount, they would be better served with a little passage of time and ending said discount with the absence of a press release that says, " hey, look, see what side we're on?!" I don't see this necessarily as "what" they did, but more in "how" they did it. Now they may have likely taken a $50M hit to their bottom line. That affects profit sharing to 80,000 employees as well. Politics is not smart business if you're in a business other than politics.
Yup. Like many have been saying here, this is blowing up on the leftists.

Agreed. Delta said nothing bad about the NRA in severing its relationship with them. It simply announced that it was ending the discount program.

They were neutral before. They offered discounts to all kinds of orginizations. When they pulled their discounts to NRA members that had nothing to do with Parkland, they chose to side with the liberal left. If they pulled their discounts to say the NAACP do you think they'd be siding with the white supremacists?

Again, like that's never happened before on both sides of the political spectrum.

Top shelf straw-man, kudos.

Delta isn't denying NRA members carriage.
