They look like hippy shoes though. The clothes, hair and unkempt beard scream hippy. Hipsters spend a lot of time making sure their beards are on point.

Though the hippie Mecca Haight Asbury is often cold and foggy, so they will put on shoes. I was in the Haight a couple of weeks ago and was the only one not wearing closed toe shoes.

When it bit, she only reeled it about half way in and then started walking back away from the water until she got it on the bank. Her excitement is something I'll never forget!
