Jared Kushner-Qatar Redux: Robert Mueller Enters the Fray

SPECIAL COUNSEL ROBERT Mueller is probing senior White House aide Jared Kushner’s attempts to secure financing for a distressed Manhattan property after the 2016 election, including pitches made to investment firms from China and Qatar.

Trump publicly took credit for the diplomatic attack on Qatar, and when Secretary of State Rex Tillerson tried to walk it back, Trump doubled down, issuing an additional aggressive statement that Tillerson would later say he suspected was the work of Kushner and his regional ally, Yousef al-Otaiba, the UAE ambassador to the United States.

Since Mueller has failed to find any evidence of Trump-Russia collusion, he is now investigating Trump’s son-in-law Kushner for his efforts to secure financing for his company from foreign investors during the presidential transition... so now Mueller wants to investigate a November 16, 2016 meeting Kushner had with Chinese investors over a real estate deal ? And also, Mueller’s team has also asked about Kushner’s dealings with a Qatari investor regarding the same property, according to one of the sources. Kushner and his company were negotiating for financing from a prominent Qatari investor, former prime minister Hamad bin Jassim Al Thani...I mean, what is he really looking for?

It's kinda crazy, Rosenstein gave Mueller a broad jurisdiction so he is on a fishing expedition.

This sums it up...

Kushner attorney Abbe Lowell told CNN in a statement, “Another anonymous source with questionable motives now contradicts the facts — in all of Mr. Kushner’s extensive cooperation with all inquiries, there has not been a single question asked nor document sought on the 666 building or Kushner Co. deals. Nor would there be any reason to question these regular business transactions.”

New sealed charges brought in case against ex-Trump campaign manager | Reuters

New sealed criminal charges have been filed in federal court in the case brought by Special Counsel Robert Mueller against two of President Donald Trump’s former campaign officials, a court record indicated on Wednesday.

The single-page document, filed at the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, did not reveal the nature of the new charges in the case involving former campaign manager Paul Manafort and aide Rick Gates.

Its inclusion in a binder in the court clerk’s office that is routinely updated with new criminal charges signals that Mueller’s office may have filed a superseding indictment replacing a previous one from last year against the two men.

The pressure is building on Manafort to flip. Mueller and his team are waaaaaay too smart for these clowns.

BTW, is it me or do these guys look like hit men / mob bosses?

It would be huge for him to flip. The last man standing trial while the others made pleas with Mueller. The only non Trump clan non Russian in the Trump Tower meeting. He was neck deep in any "conspiracy". Mueller has him and The Trump crime family surrounded.

So you and others believe in conspiracies?

Did you know HRC actually was in a plane crash in Iran when she “fell down the steps” and had a concussion? This is a good one.

Conspiracy is a crime and that is what Mueller is investigating and trying to prove. I would have said "collusion" but I knew what your response would have been.

Interesting read on the Russians indictments' lack of American accomplices. Fox and most of the Trump hacks here write Muellers actions off as an indication that Trump has been vindicated. Nearly everything I've read suggests the opposite, and that Muellers played his political cards here wisely...

Through his clean indictment of only Russians, he's painted Trump into a corner: It simultaneously shows that Russians did attack us and that his legal actions are not partisan. If Trump were to fire Mueller now, he would be dead to rights for obstruction and abandoned by moderate republicans.

Also, note this nugget from one attorneys read of the indictments: It repeatedly references the "Defendants and Co-Conspirators" throughout the document, yet the Conspirators are neither named nor have they been charged... yet.

Another shoe will fall here eventually, but I suspect the next indictments will involve obstruction by Trumps inner circle.

So you’ve given up on collusion, and now it’s obstruction...what’s next? Russian escort ring run out of Trump properties?

Kentucky Democrat wins state House seat in Trump stronghold - CNNPolitics

Washington (CNN)Democrats claimed a landslide victory in a special election for a Kentucky House district that voted heavily for Donald Trump in 2016.

Linda Belcher, a Democrat, won the special election for Kentucky's House District 49 on Tuesday with 3,386 votes. Rebecca Johnson, a Republican, received 1,561 votes, according to official results from Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes.

Sign of things to come. Mid terms should be interesting.

There's always more to the story.

Care to share with the rest of class?

I doubt he does.

Nope. He won't.

Won't say the person who won already held that seat two other times and barely lost the last election. Won't say the person she was running against was the wife of a disgraced Rep that was accused of molesting a 17 year old girl that she kept defending. Won't say the GOP candidate wouldn't even show up for debates.

Somehow, he and the media is making the jump that just because a district went for Trump, the political tides are changing. Even though most races in that district tend to be pretty close as it is.

Doin' my Paul Harvey thing this morning.

The GOP had another crap candidate. Glad you set him straight because he was obviously under the impression that Kentucky voters in that district were stupid.
