Mass shooting of the week, high school in parkland, FL.

What flaw? I said talk as much as you want. But I’m saying policy decisions based on emotional arguments is a bad idea. That was my intent anyway. You disagreeing with that?

Edit: wait are you saying we only talk about them after these events happen?

What I'm saying is that if one wants to wait for emotion to wain after a mass shooting even so that no outrage is involved - then the talk will never happen.

I'm sure that some would accuse the left of exploiting the Sandyhook kids by invoking them still today.

It's never going to be a good time to have this conversation, we now live in a time where the outrage and sorrow is bracketed by shooting events.

The NRA is funding the litigation.

Now, if you want to get into whether for example Heller should be revisited by a more centrist or moderate court, I'm certainly for that.

Just like Bloomberg and other anti-gun groups are funding legislation and litigation.

do the rich get to keep the guns?

No they are taxed for the funds of course.

Side note, I learned this was a real thing last week. You can go to www.pay.gov and make a donation to pay down the national debt. They collected $7M last year. So if anyone is feeling guilty about your fair share, the government has made it easy to atone.

Ok I can basically agree with that. It should be an ongoing discussion. I think it is tho. There is already a bipartisan senate bill from Cornyn and Murphy that hopefully is going to get more debate.

Edit: and even though I say it’s an ongoing discussion I’ll admit it should have a good deal of wider participation.

Hey libs! Trump actually took action on something related to this! Does he get credit or nah?

It's something. I don't mind giving him some just dues for it. However, he is not exactly crossing the NRA which would take some actual courage. Even the NRA has openly questioned the legality of bump stocks under current law.

Sure, lets' talk about it. How much? How much is Bloomberg paying out to combat the gun manufacturers via legislation?

Let's not pretend that the gun laws aren't more stringent because of money.

Always follow the money, always.

By all means. Find out how much he donated into the Colorado recall elections about six years ago. Specifically in a state he doesn't even reside in.

Here's a good start:

It's Septic, why waste your time?

Honestly, these kids down here are pissed off something fierce. I don't think trump is going to placate them by tossing out the sacrificial bump stock lamb.
