Manning may be coming to MNF or TNF

Peyton doesn’t need MNF nor TNF.

The ratings are sh*t and honestly, who has time to stay up and watch a football game that late during the week?

Obviously his choice but he can do so much better.

This couldn't be further from the truth. The ratings are down a bit, but it's still the 2nd highest rated cable show on television, behind only the Walking Dead.

If I'm Peyton, I'd rather not have the MNF or TNF gig. Surely he doesn't want to spend his retirement commenting on terrible football.

Agree, don’t think I see him calling games.

Just can’t imagine that he’s not waiting on the right ownership/President of Operations opportunity. Could be wrong, who knows.

Wouldn’t go that far, love and appreciate Peyton for who he is and what he’s done as a player and person. One of my all-time favorites. However, given that he endorsed Currie over Fulmer for AD and Schiano at all, the bloom is off the rose just a bit for me.

Well said.

I'd love to sit down with him and just "shoot the chit" with him about both.

He is a legend man quit hating. Peyton Manning transcended the NFL and changed the qb position forever. No one will ever be able to duplicate.

I like the guy, but good grief, "transcended the NFL", "changed the QB position forever". You're laying it on a little to thick here..

He is one of the best, not the best, but one of...

Am I the only one who doesn’t give 2 flying ****$ what this man does? After this Schiano fiasco

I don't think we're advocating for Sainthood. The question is whether he'd be good in the MNF booth. Better than Dennis Miller and Tony Kornheiser for sure.

This pretty much.

Not hatin on peyton, just disappointed and confused.

Politics and loyalties can always muddy your perceptions.

Vol fans probably would like an explanation of that whole deal, not that we deserve one necessarily.

Disappointed and confused....because his choice wasn't yours

his politics/loyalties aren't your perceptions

Want an explanation of why he doesn't agree with you.

not picking on you, but knowing Peyton's respect for Fulmer and his love for UT, I'm pretty sure he made a choice based on what he thought was best for the University at the time. We all make mistakes and hindsight is 20/20.

and yes....we don't deserve an explanation....although we want one.

I couldn't care less who he supports for AD, coach, whatever. He's my favorite Vol ever, favorite professional athlete ever.

There are several that are above Peyton on my favorite Vol lists. Honestly, he's nowhere close on either list for me

Had he not torn his knee at Alabama, he likely would have won the Heisman. Game for game, was a better QB than Manning. Actually did at least as much checking off and play changing as Manning did while at UT

I'd like to see what the numbers are from all of this if piracy were included. I bet the actual numbers aren't that far down from the past.

I don't believe Manning will ever take any position at Tennessee.

Peyton will probably be NFL or nothing.

I'd like to see him on Monday night football where he can talk up our Vols a bit more and that might help recruiting a bit.

VFL...GBO!!!

Gruden did a pretty good job of it himself. For him to say anything more than Gruden would be borderline unprofessional
