Most handguns (outside of revolvers) hold 13-16 rounds if one is chambered. I don’t own an ar, but I imagine their standard magazine size is exactly the same. The ar fires no faster than any other semi automatic rifle.

The difference in the range on a handgun and a rifle woudlnt be very relavent inside a school building. I imagine most shots were fairly close range.

Other weapons would be even more a lethal. A 12 gauge being a great example. I’m only annoyed that school systems waste time and energy attempting to get young girls interested in things they don’t care about, instead of doing more to help young men succeed. Because the more who succeed, the less losers we have. The less losers we have, the less shooters.

I wish Joe Rogan would be against ARs on his podcast since that’s painfully obvious that’s how you get information and opinions.

Far, far more lethal depending on range. If you ever decide to kill yourself, don’t use an ar. Use a 12 gauge. That way you don’t botch it and end up as a side show.

Yeah one 12GA round at 10 paces will take a wooden door off the hinges. Not leave at quarter inch diameter hole.

Edit: I was going from memory and not totally sure so I looked it up. A fairly standard US #00 12GA round is 9 .33 pellets.

The availability of guns and type of guns isn’t our problem. I’ve shared my thoughts about what the root cause is and like every one else that thinks more regulation is needed you’ve ignored them.

Really?? I think you are missing the obvious. Think about it... the "availability of guns is certainly part of the problem" A typical NRA argument is that the reason we need to have the freedom to buy these guns is because guns are so "Available".

I think 00 buckshot is .33 caliber, and there are usually nine of them in a 2-3/4" shell. 1200 fps sounds about right.

Geez, I was talking about number of fatalities, not how lethal one shot is. How many people can be killed with one shotgun without reloading? How many people can be killed with one AR with a factory magazine, not to mention the aftermarket magazines? This is a simple question.

I went back and edited. I looked it up. You are correct iin the pellet count and caliber. But I would submit either loadout is a barrel-of-monkeys-fun level of hurt compared to a .22 single bullet which is all I was going for.

My opinions are the complete opposite of Rogan’s on this issue. Clearly you don’t watch his podcast. Maybe the centrist who liked Bernie Sanders was too far right for you.

The number of people who can be killed is not dependent on capacity. Reloading isn’t difficult nor time consuming. Idk how many rounds your typical shotgun holds. Probably 8-12. But you also have to realize the shotgun is far more likely to kill or injury multiple people at a time. The further away from you they are, the more of them you hit. The closer you are, the more likely they die.

You can get a semi-auto Saiga 12 gauge with a 20 round drum magazine. I would say you can kill more than a few before you have to reload , and you can reload pretty quickly.
