Your anger is misplaced. Your solution will not curb shootings, all it does is violate peoples rights.
Your going to characterize me shooting at coyotes with an AR as hunting? And no, most people do not hunt with ARs. You have to be aware of that. Stop being stupid.
Yes if you were a real hunter you'd know that its a part of the hunting regs outlined according to TN wildlife resources agency. I hunt hogs exclusively with an AR-15. You have to be aware that you need to get out of your bubble. Stop being a bitter moron.
Criminalizing them would've probably kept Adam Lanza's mom from hoarding them. Would've probably priced James Holmes out of one and the Cruz kid out of one, would've meant that Devin Kelley could not have purchased one from Academy Sports, and would've had minimal effect on you and me.
I agree with you that we need to take a look at alienation and mental health in young adults. That is not nearly enough, though. Many of these killers were seeking treatment for mental health issues, but because they were not committed to mental hospitals at any point, were still allowed to purchase firearms. That is absurd.
We need to look at comprehensive reform here. That has been my point in this thread.
Probably because your questions are stupid. The firearms I personally own have no relevance to the conversation. I own multiple firearms. Shotguns, rifles, handguns.
As to your other question: it was attempt to pretend I had made some horrible statement about students. I said our system needs to create less losers. If you dont believe theres winners and losers in every system, youre lying to yourself. Have I ever referred a student to a guidance counselor, of course.
Your turn. Why would a different weapon have resulted in less casualties.
The grabbers' claim that they want a national "discussion" (ie, their way of telling you how it's going to be) never includes any question of lives saved in self defense with a firearm. Not that it matters as long as we have the 2nd.
Back from the auto show. Damn the wife was looking at some expensive cross overs.
So with the expiration of FAWB1994 the strength is with the gun ownership advocates. Plain and simple. But the left desperately wants it reinstated and broadened. They wait for emotional events like this and come out and opine how we must do something, ANYTHING, to end the madness.
And gun ownership advocates want it stopped too. Its freaking horrible. But we have hard evidence over a 10 year period that shows nothing changed. NOTHING. I posted a graph earlier that showed the year with the largest number of victims was during the ban even. And we are not willingly going to go back to an imbecile ban on the instruments that we know will not work. It didnt work before.
But... but... surely common sense says it woulda stopped this case or that case. Nope. Thats just a baseless rationalization with no supporting facts.
So you know what? To hell with it. I see no reason to waste breath on it anymore. The strength is with gun ownership with the expiration of FAWB1994 so ***** em let them propose the solutions. Go for it. Ill hang up and listen.
Is that how you respond to questions discussing complex issues? I feel sorry for students in your class and kids that you coach.
A hunting rifle would not be able to fire as many rounds as rapidly and would give people time to run for cover or attack the shooter during reloading. A handgun usually holds less rounds and has a much shorter range which would limit possible targets.
But again we dont know what he would have done without the AR. Like I said earlier any person can build a bomb that can inflict much more death and destruction than any firearm. Yet no one has ever blown up a school, thank god, but they have used AR firearms to kill at school.
Another thought is that if you are a teacher and a coach then you surely have gone through active shooter training. Are you awake during this and do you honestly think that other weapons would be just as lethal? What would happen at your school? Your ownership and training with your firearms should make you an asset in such scenarios however it seems you are much more upset that you should try to get girls interested in STEM.
