That is such a tired, overused, and juvenile argument'
The rebuttal is so obvious, I can't bring myself to make it.

Do it Luther. Take your time and give it your best shot. Otherwise, you're just a ballon full of hot air ready for anyone on the thread to prick and we all get to watch the pop.
No one will make that argument because no one is idiotic enough to believe that we will keep guns out of the hands of criminals.
What reasonable people know and understand is that we can lessen the number and types of guns that are getting into the hands of criminals. That is an outcome that REASONABLE people support.
I agree. Target acquisition takes time. I also think that Oswald could have fired the 3 shots in 5.6 seconds. From what I understand, it was 5.6 seconds from the sound of the 1st shot until the 3rd. That is almost 3 seconds between shots. So I think we are agreeing? The action type isnt the driver in down range accuracy?
Again if the targets are spread out enough I cant do that with a semi auto either. But in a situation like Vegas you have 3 seconds to sight, shoot, cycle. I honsftly think thats plenty of time.
To reduce the proliferation of guns in this country, big bad inanimate objectto reduce the number of guns finding their way into the hands of criminals, banning guns won't do that, if anything it will make it easier with a bigger black market.
look at prohibition. to reduce the amount of crime and carnage in which guns are the "tool" of choice, again its not about saving lives its just simply about the big bad guns to limit the availability of certain types of weapons, trust me, you don't want them to get creativeand to generally make the country a better and safer place for my children and their children.Europe still has the same homicide rate as the US, per person. even without guns.
Juries are FOS and you know it.Not an easy answer, but...
1. Unethical attorneys
2. Unrealistic clients
3. People feeling they got screwed by the system.
In my experience, when a case is lost the client always feels the attorney is to blame. In my experience, the case is usually won or lost based upon the client's performance on the stand. There are very few gotcha moments in a trial and juries try very hard to reach the correct conclusion and that conclusion is usually based upon the client testimony and written evidence. If the client is unlikable or comes across as evasive then the jury will often deliver an adverse verdict.
The lawyer, if he has a strong case, is to present it in an easy to digest manner to stay out of the way of his witnesses. There is a perception out there that there is a huge difference between attorneys. If they are properly prepared... the difference is quite small.
I didn't kill any of those kids. Pretty sure GV or any of the others on here didn't either. These are the victims of the Florida school shooting - CNN

Petty's family said she was vibrant and determined. She had volunteered after Hurricane Irma hit Florida in September.
"Alaina loved to serve," the statement from her family said.
She was also a part of the "Helping Hands" program of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
"While we will not have the opportunity to watch her grow up and become the amazing woman we know she would become, we are keeping an eternal perspective," her family said.
Alaina, 14, was also a member of the junior ROTC at her school, a leadership program taught by retired Army personnel.

Dworet, a 17-year-old senior, was killed in the shooting, the University of Indianapolis confirmed. Dworet was recruited for the university swim team and would have been an incoming freshman this fall.
"Nick's death is a reminder that we are connected to the larger world, and when tragedy hits in places around the world, it oftentimes affects us at home," said Robert L. Manuel, University of Indianapolis president.
"Today, and in the coming days, I hope you will hold Nick, his family, all of the victims, as well as the Parkland community and first responders in your prayers."

But keep on justifying your "need" to have assault rifles.
Luther likes big .gov. See he knows that of his $1000 donation, only about... conservatively... 60% of that donation will actually go to purchasing firearms. The other 40% will go to .gov pensions and health care for the bureaucrats. You on the other hand are a capitalist. You know that 100% of that money will go to 'taking a gun off the street'.Okay, regardless, you send me $1,000 and I'll turn in a firearm.
Deal?
I work in the aerospace industry. $500 mil spec hammers make total sense to me. In fact thats probably on the low side, they generally have to use lowest bidder on commodity items anyway!Luther likes big .gov. The enquoted part was hard to type with a straight face.
If we reduce the number of Muslim immigrants we will reduce the number of potential Muslim terrorists. To reduce the proliferation of guns in this country, to reduce the number of guns finding their way into the hands of criminals, to reduce the amount of crime and carnage in which guns are the "tool" of choice, to limit the availability of certain types of weapons, and to generally make the country a better and safer place for my children and their children.
