Mass shooting of the week, high school in parkland, FL.

So, you’d be good with changing laws for me to open carry my 30-06? If a bolt action is all that’s needed, who cares about its intended use, right?

Better a bolt action 30-06 than a semi-auto pistol or rifle, as far as it goes.

Fine idiot. The most lethal weapon I have in my possession is my bolt action deer rifle. I could easily put 20 rounds a minute accurately down range at distances exceeding 300 yds. So ban that particular bolt action rifle?
I bet you can't hit 20 different targets at 300 yards in a minute.

I’m torn on that. I don’t want to see our LEO’s out gunned by criminals. I believe there is a need for special weapons teams. But I also believe the average beat officer doesn’t need an AR or even riot gun to perform the lion’s share of their duties.

But yeah right on to Barret and the other gun companies taking a stance.

I'll disagree and say a patrol rifle is a needed tool for any officer these days. It's not as much of a "might only need it 0.2% of the time" but when needed, would probably need it pretty badly.

Better to have and not need kind of thing.

However, subject to the same laws of that State. How quickly police unions would start clamoring for a law change if that was the case.

Dollars to doughnuts that at some point Trump implies that this failure by the FBI in some way supports his criticism of the agency and its investigation of him.

I bet I could put 20 rounds in a “center of mass” area in a minute. Like in the Vegas shooting.

20 distributed targets where I would have to assess a new sightline aim and shoot? No. But I would struggle doing that with a semi auto too.

The action of recharging a round on a well setup rifle is really not that disturbing to the shooter. Or recharging the magazine.

Umm, rifles and shotguns are illegal to open carry. You’re aware of that?

Now, being as its illegal, did it stop Cruz? What about others who have carried out heinous acts such as these? Having a magazine and being semi-automatic does not make a firearm an “assault” weapon. Never has, never will.

A 30-06 (or any 30 cal. deer hunting rifle) will inflict more damage, and with more precision, than any “assault” weapon you’re attempting to classify.

You don't really need guns either.

or cars or a 2000sf house, or a tv, or the internet, or voting, new clothes, gold fish, a dog, college football, fun, beer, etc etc. surely we can trust the government to give us everything we need right?

Lol yeah. As I like to say “insurance and guns. You really don’t need it until you need it very very badly”

Yes the small percentage of the time they would need it is why they carry it agreed. Your point on LEO and civilian applicability is indeed valid too.

Taking Trump out of the mix for a moment (I know it's impossible for you to do, so I'll do it for you)

But if the FBI dropped the ball like Wray implied, heads need to roll.

You will not read that point within 90% if the media outlets though. This is obviously a failing of gun control.

Surely, we can have the second amendment and sound regulation of who owns and how they own firearms, especially in this day and age.

That’s not what you’re saying. You’re saying we should ban semiautomatic weapons. That’s about 80-90% of weapons.
