Mass shooting of the week, high school in parkland, FL.

Yet, here's the elephant in the room question...

Those very same arms have been legal and available since the 1960s. But the school shooting phenomenon has only been on the rise since the 90s.

Why is it we had extremely limited school shootings until Democrats started trying to ban them?

Do you know what happened in the 90's?

Fox News and the narrative that the democrats are trying to ban them.

I'm a lifetime member and I don't feel a speck of blood on my hands. Your statement is emotional, reactionary, and pretty generalized. The only reason that we aren't a country like Australia or GB or Canada for that matter is the NRA. The big difference between those countries and ours, we have a vindictive form of government that in the absence of a heavily armed populace would become tyrannical (or more so than it is) overnight. I'll keep my gun, NRA, and freedom thankyou. You have to question how the guy got into the school carrying an AR? Who was watching the front door?

The NRA is not at fault for this, but don't act like they are some paragon of good protecting liberty. They are in it for money, absolutely nothing more than that. They'd legalize rocket launchers if they could make a dollar.

Guns don't kill people. People with guns kill people.

If you are a member of the NRA, the blood is on your hands. You are responsible for this. They have blocked common sense laws forever and by paying dues to them, you have made this a reality. You are responsible. Never forget that.

Allow me to be the first to say, you’re a ****ing idiot. The only person responsible for this is the person pulling the damn trigger

Non sequitur.

...and we've had crotch hair since we evolved from apes yet now women by and large shave it. Democrats cause that too? :good!:

MSNBC also started in the 90s.

And you really want to go down the road of counting votes as to who stumps on gun control the most?

Dang.

When DTH starts getting his dander up, something went way wrong in your argument. He's generally a pretty level headed (though somewhat misguided) kinda guy.

By your logic (or lack thereof), funding an organization doesn't enable it. Of course it does. And the NRA is the SOLE reason assault weapons aren't banned in the US.

You, sir, are part of the problem. You are an enabler.

Tired of hearing the same old **** from the same people blaming inanimate objects for the actions of people.

Yes, we began druging our kids instead of disciplining them. The helicopter parent phenomenon began along with participation trophy’s. We stopped preparing our kids for the kick in the nuts life can be. That along with normalizing mental illnesses to the point it is used as an excuse for people who are not mentally ill being ****heads.

Share that with GV, apparently Democrats caused all of this somehow.

Hmm, is that what I said or even implied? Is your analytical thinking so far gone that you cannot see what I wrote?

Let's try this again, shall we? Hopefully, I can break it down into Barney style terms enough for you to grasp.

So called "assault rifles" (I'll use that term since you cannot grasp any other term I use) have been around AND legal to purchase since the 1960s. Various versions and makes and models were reasonably easy to come by until the Import Ban of 1989 (signed by Daddy Bush, a Republican) and even then could be sold. The Assault Weapons Ban went into effect in 1994. Columbine, the first major school shooting, happened in 1999.

If those weapons were available and, again reasonably easy to get, for 30 years, why did school shootings take a significant rise in the 21st century?

For 30 years nothing extremely major happened and it wasn't until the first large scale "ban" happened that we had a mass school shooting. What significant changes took place during that time?

If you lack the cognitive abilities to discuss this on the same level I can, please remove your fingers from the keys and just read.
