I don't subscribe to the metal detection going into schools (there are always ways in regardless) and I'm wondering what happened in this situation that the officers were unable to respond to.
My whole thing against a private security firm is the distinct lack of training. You can claim LEOs aren't that trained, but let's take your Armpit State's requirements for armed and unarmed security:

Typically, at a minimum, you will usually be required to meet the following criteria.

And four hours of firearms training for armed. Two hours a year of "refresher" training.

Bad idea. I wouldn't even trust my own company's armed division to protect my children. My own company. Much less any other out there that isn't Triple Canopy or Aegis.
