D4H's 2017 NFL Draft Review (Best Picks, Best Drafts, and Predictions)

I wasn't, and then you dropped the bomb that you thought the #4 pick in the draft was a good player, and now I'm terrified.

No. I said Ezekiel Elliott would be the best RB in the NFL as a rookie. A number of posts argued with me on that point.

I said he would immediately become the best. Nobody else was saying that.

Literally everybody was saying Zeke would be the best RB that year. Most everybody here was saying Kamara is going to be great. You're delusional.

Isn't it interesting that you said James Conner will be HOF and he had 144 yards from schrimmage his rookie year?

LOL. That's not what I'm arguing. I specifically said he would be a dominant rookie. I said he would lead the league in rushing as a rookie. No one else was saying that. I specifically had people arguing that he was just a rookie and there were many other RBs in the NFL better than him.

Once again my arguments aren't just that I said Zeke and Kamara would be good. I was SPECIFIC about how great they would be. I said Zeke would immediately become the best RB in the NFL and he would be the leading rusher. And just as I predicted he did that as a rookie.

When it comes to Kamara I said he would better than Fournette and Cook. Nobody else said that. You guys were still agreeing with the general consensus that those RBs were better. I was also the only one anywhere that said Kamara would be a Hall of Fame player in the NFL like Marshall Faulk. Once again no one else said that.

So I'm not just saying those guys were gonna be good. I was predicting exactly how GREAT they would be. Predictions counter to what anyone else was saying.

Also lets acknowledge another player I was right about REUBEN FOSTER. Just got arrested without bail for domestic violence.

This comes less than a month after being arrested for marijuana possession which came less than a year after being caught with a diluted sample at the combine after being kicked out of said combine for getting into a fight with a nurse. I told y'all the kid would not have a long career. Serious off-field issues.

So far with the class of 2017, I'm 2 for 2 on player predictions outside of their skill level on the field. I said Deshaun Watson had serious durability concerns and he tears his knee in practice during a non-contact drill. I also said Reuben Foster had serious off-field character issues that would keep him from ever turning into a great NFL player and just like that he's arrested without bail after his rookie year.

1st team All-Pro in 2016 and led the NFL in rushing.

Yes he was the best. By a wide margin too.

David Johnson was a first team All-Pro as well with far more total yards than Elliott, and Le’Veon Bell was better than both of them (and still is) but only played in 12 games.

Alvin Kamara averaged 6.1 YPC to lead the entire NFL. The only reason he didn't lead the NFL in rushing is because he had a teammate who also ran for 1000+ yards.

You can nitpick all you want. My #1 RB in 2016 led the NFL in rushing and my #1 RB in 2017 was Rookie of the Year.

My other picks are coming. Just wait till Dobbs becomes what I've said.

That will be my true mark of genius. Josh Dobbs.

It brings me great joy and amusement to see you accusing me of "nit picking" while you cling to even the tiniest vestiges of success in a huge pool of failure.

First, regardless of whatever haters about Elliott (I'm guessing most of it just anti-OSU bias really) may have existed it's a straw man argument on your part. Since NFL.com started using the X.X grading system in 2014 there have only been 11 players, regardless of position, that have managed a 7.0 grade or higher. Of those ONLY ONE RB, Elliott, made that list. This idea that you foresaw something special regarding Elliott that eluded most others is pure roach excrement.

2nd. In the last two drafts you have specifically cited 10 RB most worthy of praise. This is what they have accomplished.

6265 yards at 3.7 yards per carry

In that same time frame 6 RB's you ignored or outright dissed; Derrick Henry, Kenyan Drake, Jordan Howard, Leonard Fournette, Dalvin Cook and Kareem Hunt have done this:

7213 yards and 4.6 yards per carry.

So despite being 6 vs 10 and despite arguably the two biggest names in last years draft (Fournette and Cook) missing a combined 15 games from injury your "losers" squad out rushed your "winners" group by nearly 1000 yards and a yard per carry.

Your resume is open to anyone that bothers even a cursory glance at your posting history. It's pretty poor.

2017 Rookie of the Year = Alvin Kamara
2016 1st team All-Pro = Ezekiel Elliott

My record is sterling.

I identify the very best players. PERIOD.

An empty retort given the facts presented but fully in step with what we've come to expect.

Besides, pulling back the curtain on your fake Football Oz routine is more for the information/amusement of myself and others. Expecting you to break character isn't really expected or needed.

Predicting an Alabama player to have legal trouble after college? Very impressive

There were a lot of people around here defending him not just bamawriter. They were even gloating during the season that he was performing well. I said it would only be a matter of time and once again I was proven right.

I'm impeccable with these things.

That doesn’t even sound like a disagreement. You were saying he’d get in trouble again, after it had already happened, and they were saying he was playing well, which he was. Seems like both were right

Unless you were saying he’d be out of the league because of said trouble, which so far would make you the only one who’s wrong

You mean how you defend Antonio Calloway and say he'll be a star despite all his legal trouble.

Your original listing of him as a "bust" at the beginning of this thread had nothing to do with character issues. In fact you had this to say in this very thread.

"Foster is undersized and has poor tackling mechanics" and "Haason Reddick and Jarrad Davis will be world's better."

These are on the field predictions and as far as demonstrable/observable record is concerned you missed again. In spite of only playing 10 games Foster was 2nd on the team in tackles. Foster's tackles per game was also better than those players you preferred; Foster 7.2, Davis 6.9 and Reddick with only 2.3.

I said Foster was a bad pick in the 1st round cause he had durability and off field issues. They said I was wrong and he was a steal at the end of the first round.

The fact he missed games with injury and has been arrested twice in year 1 proves I was right.

Reuben Foster is a bust and will never live up to being a first round pick.

Antonio Callaway is significantly more talented than Reuben Foster. And as I have said many times, I'm a good judge of character and I can tell by looking at Callaway's face that he's a good kid. A change of environment from Florida will put him on the right track.

Foster doesn't have a pleasant face like Callaway. He's destined to always be in trouble.

Look. I've posted many times about his character and durability concerns. Just because you found one post where I didn't say it doesn't mean I never said it.

How about you check the first page of this thread? I clearly say in the post where I'm ranking the draft classes that I didn't like the Reuben Foster pick for San Francisco specifically because of his character and durability concerns. But you are right. In other posts I was also concerned with his size and tackling style which led to the durability concerns.

His character issues have been a matter of record. For instance this is something from the very page I quoted you from.

Nah. Reuben Foster is the best linebacker by a good bit. Only dropped because he's a blithering idiot.

Point is there's precious little for you to peacock ("impeccable", LOL!) about regarding Foster. You brought little new to the table regarding off the field character and were empirically smacked down regarding his on the field play.

What key facial features tipped you to those differences? I need to improve my facial feature characterization skills and want to learn from someone who clearly has mastered it.

Is it like wide eyebrows or specific lines? Cross eyed, which I think is a complete tip off to someone who can't be trusted?

U can tell by looking at Callaway's face that he's a good kid? My God, u must have super powers. Are u Professor X ? U should use your powers for good. Maybe become a police detective or a judge. U are wasting your powers, although we all appreciate your predictions on VN, there is so much more u can do for truth, justice and the American way.

Is there anyway u could come to my house and look at my son's face and tell me if he is a good kid or just a dumba$$ ? He's keep getting in minor trouble at school and I'm afraid, he may try to kill me in my sleep

There's a difference between citing why he dropped in the draft versus predicting like I did that he would have more issues off the field and that he would have durability issues as well. Don't forget he missed time due to injury.

I was 100% right in saying he would be a BUST. Something the rest of y'all weren't saying.

He hasn’t been a bust at all.
