You know, after Georgia, ever other team in the SECeast is very winnable. Did you see the signing classes of KY, Vandy and Mizzou...horrible.

NO the best recruits wouldn't come here because of the miserable season last year 4 wins and none in the SEC. And the **** show that went on at Tennessee. They wouldn't have come for a resurrected Vince Lombardi. People thinking they would have their head up their butts. They want to play for championships right now.

So Pruitt is going to turn green and morph 3 star recruits into 5 star players?

If it takes being almost completely shut out on his main targets today to get him fired up, this is gonna be a short tenure.

Dude picked a strategy and it completely failed.

Spent his limited time on 5 stars, came in second a bunch, and wound up filling holes with bodies.

Got his arse kicked today.

If Smart and Mullen don’t beat him in 2018, they won’t never beat him again, which I doubt they can beat him. Why? Simple...the guy is a football Stallings, Jimbo Fisher, Nick Saban smarts. He has even said, he is a Bear Bryant smart, coming from Gene Stallings, which he was under at Bama. He will use all of the ideas together to beat teams. Philip Fulmer, you are da man. He knew what he was doing in this hiring.

I am glad he went after high end recruits but it sure doesn't seem like there was any semblance of a back up plan in place.

No reason they shouldn't have hit 25 and only signing 1 RB and 2 DBs seems to have missed filling some needs.

Have you done any research on Pruitt? Have you listened to other coaches, seen his background, and just listen to him? He beat Georgia in the 4th quarter on defense, and Saban had nothing to do with that. The only thing was that Saban put another quarterback in, but it was Pruitt that shut down Smart and Cheney.

Pruitt has had two months to recruit these kids to UT, not Bama.

He inherited a dumpster fire caused by Currie for not firing Butch sooner.

0-8 in SEC Play as well.

Why are you acting like Pruitt should have easily had a Top 10 class considering the circumstances I just mentioned above?

Who said anything about a top 10 class? It appears you are assumeing you know what i think to validate a point. Im trying to figure out the purpose of this thread. The op said "this" has the coaches fired up. Id like a clear defintion of what "this" is?

This sort of emotional stuff is silly. Speaking as if the staff wasn't doing hard work before - they just got beat on the trail this year. Tennessee did not do itself any favors this year. The "who" for that situation is irrelevant. It is what it is. Maybe they'll do better next time. Maybe not. But the notion that somehow they'll be "fired up" and be emotionally motivated to somehow outperform everyone else is quaint at best.
