Lookout for Biren Ealy and Lavelle Hawkins from Cal this year. Hawkins is looking like a stud in TC.

From what I've heard, the two Justin's are head and shoulders above everyone else with Ealy and Jones fighting for the third spot. We may not see a whole lot from Lavelle Hawkins this year, but he seems like he could end up being a good one.

I have heard the same about our Justin's. I will add that the second half of the season Hawkins should see some time in a few packages.

Did anyone hear Hawkins interview yesterday on 104.5 the zone? What a good guy, I am making him one of my favorite players already. It's so refreshing to get a class guy like him after Pacman. He reminds me of Chris Sanders as a class act. He had that excitement in his voice like he truly understood what a privilege it was to be on an NFL team and he was very respectful of the guys interviewing him. He talked about the Vols beating them in Knoxville a couple of years ago. He said they got whipped and he was saying that the field felt like it was shaking from all the fans. He said it was the longest plane ride back to Cali and he said they were so mad about that lose that it helped them win the game in Cali. Jokingly he said that Cal could beat down and SEC team but he knows better.

I was too young to see Mason in his developmental years, but Hawkins reminds me of Wes Welker but more athletic.

Mason spent the 97-99 seasons as the punt/kick returner mainly and the 4th or so receiver on the roster. In 00, injuries to thigpen and pickens sometime in the 1st half or middle of the season forced him into one of the starting roles where he did pretty well that and the 01 season season, but he didn't become the nfl starter the league paid attention too till the 02-03 season, unfortunately after eddie and wycheck were done, the base of the defense was gone, & the titans were nearing salary cap problems.

I make the comparison because (while kiper made it too at one point) they seem to play similar and they were both 4th round WRs who the team wanted to develop. I feel the titans have been trying to redo the mcnair, george, wycheck, mason, def team, using young, white, crumpler & hawkins/roydell. They do want someone to develop, however @ WR, however with the time it takes, i worry they might miss the window of opportunity.
Also, I always felt that while mason was a good wr, he didn't have the kind of gamebreaking ability or speed that would better suit the team: something i feel they need to find for this team also.

Is that you bass man bruno. I wondered what happened to you.

We thought the OC was Byron Leftwitch's problem, turned out it was both.:)

No that's not me... hah.. I like me some Titans.. but I'm not that hyped up on them this year..

It's not that they aren't improving just between the schedule and other teams really improving it will be really tough to steal a wildcard spot again.

Mike williams was cut...he can now officially take his place in the nfl's hall of busts

He will be picked up and play for someone this year. He was cut because he dropped a few passes the first two days of camp. nothing more

That's kind of a big deal deal when your job is to catch the ball.

and because he is playing about the same level that our undrafted free agents are playing at, but at 280 pounds.

Did Lendale come in overweight again this year?
I bet Fisher is loving that guy.

No. Not this year, he must be worried with the Titans drafting another RB, especially with a first rd. pick. Then again, Johnson and White are as different as McAllister and Bush in New Orleans.

Yeah, they should have the 2RB tandem they have been wanting. Have they givin up on Chris Henry?

I'm not sure if they've given up on Henry but he didn't do much last season. There is not much mention of him by the Nashville media. He might end up as a kick returner but I don't think he will play a lot on offense unless Johnson or White get injured. I was so mad when they drafted Henry because they did so based on combine numbers rather than how he played at Arizona. If the guy doesn't do much at U of A then how is he going to be a big factor in the NFL?

We all have our combine wonders, see Matt Jones.:p

You couldn't have provided a better example. I hope Chris Johnson can bring the same thing to the Titans that Jones-Drew brought to Jacksonville. The Jags will be very good this year, take down the Colts. :)

I hope so but, 1st the Jags have to take down the Titans.:)

It's a tough division for sure, the Texans will be tough too. I don't know what to expect from Tennessee, they could be anywhere from 6-10 to 10-6 imo. I would be very happy if they could split the series with Jacksonville but not surprised if they lose both of those. I guess it depends on what Vince can do. He has to score more points in the red zone and not allow Bironas to kick as many field goals this year.

I don't think a team that made the playoffs last year can be considered a sleeper.

I'm glad for the Titans sake, that they get to unfold their shinny new OC against us.:)

The Jags got a new DC too, so that should be fun.

eh...this is the third team he's failed to perform for though. he'll get picked up by someone for depth probably, but as a 10th overall pick, he has very much failed to live up to expectations

I think he would be bound for the practice squad somewhere if anything. It is widely known his work ethic is poor and he was given a chance from an old coach in Chow. He is a bust and it wouldn't surprise me if he just called it quits.
