So is Barnes and company aware of this guy that's just down the interstate??

They are aware. That program is loaded with D1 talent and that's after they lost a few guys who went to prep schools. A few sophomores and freshman that are great too.

And has fallen since then. Outside the top-200 now. I'd be shocked if there are 200 juniors better than Gaines.

I think his original ranking was around 140 which put him at the bottom of the 4*. He's dropped on there but rivals still doesn't have him ranked and it doesn't look like ESPN does either.

So maybe 247 is cooling on him a bit since others didn't follow their lead.

Gonna have to trust Barnes on this one cause his ranking probably isn't gonna climb much.

Not an attempt to be snarky, but that is an interesting approach from you.

He’s going to Hargrave next year where he will be playing with/against much better completion and playing in front of scouts just about every night, he should get an accurate ranking whether that’s up or done I’m not sure.

Was reading something earlier and reminded me of the Tennessee needing to recruit better discussion...Purdue is arguably the best team in CBB and they have 2 total Top 100 players on their roster, one was ranked 68th and the other 82nd. What they do have is guys that have bought in and who are veterans and have stuck around the program, just thought it was interesting.

Something worth noting...

Webb School in Knoxville has a 2020 Top 100 player in Keon Jonhson, he also plays AAU ball for former Vol Mark Griffin, per VQ he’s expected to UOV for today’s game. Also on that’s Webb School team is 2020 Emory Lanier, assistant coach Rob Lanier’s son...obviously that’s a little ways off from now, but it will come sooner than many you think, Vols could have a nice set up with 2 of the better prospects in Tennessee both attending the same school and in Knoxville.

Seems like they are picking up on Harris. Vq seems to hint that they may contrinue to recruit him more heavily. Simons is a long shot imo. I would take Harris or Moore if you could get them, and then if Simons wanted to get on board then we could make a spot. I am liking Harris a lot now. Small but extremely quick and also a deadly shooter.

People wanna knock his height, this isn’t the NBA, as a fan I absolutely hate when the opposition has a 5’9” PG that nobody can stay in front of and is a pest defensively. Tremont Waters at LSU is similar build to Harris and that guy is arguably the best PG in the SEC and is a freshman, the nice thing with those guys is that 99% of the time they aren’t leaving early for the NBA because scouts say they’re too small, so they end up dominating college ball for 4 years.

IMO Turner and Darrington are both better off the ball, so there’s definitely a spot for a guy like Harris on this roster...imo he should become the priority and we should be pushing for a commitment.

Was wondering if we would offer Emory. Haven’t yet, that I remember.

Keon Johnson doesn’t go to the Webb in Knoxville
