Getting to become friends with my dad in adulthood has been one of my greatest joys.

My son didn’t like football til he was 7. Man I was so worried that he would never like it. He LOVES football and basketball now. Thank goodness.

I lived in Colorado for six years during graduate school and only got to see him a couple of times a year. Now that I live in Georgia and he lives in Knoxville we see each other a lot more, which is great, but still not as much as I'd like (we're about 6 hours apart, but he visits a lot because he and my mom have a place on the beach in South Carolina and he visits my brother in Orlando). I try to call him most every day though.

Absolutely but for some reason if you talk about race as something that we created for cultural reasons (and justifying slavery was a major reason for that construction) people freak out. It doesn't matter what color the person is many will swear up and down that race is a real thing rather than something we created to separate people and assign social roles. But it's the same as gender - we assigned roles to people and created gender. But then again a lot of people still don't know the difference between gender and sex.

I think a lot of people just don't want to take the time to explore these complex issues.

I married the best girl I've ever met. Nearly 14 years and she still gets me with just a look or a word.

And I made 3 more girls with her, each of them with an immeasurable amount of power over me.

It's the best thing in the world.

You will. It will happen. Getting your career off the ground is important also. I read a lot in here and saw the conversation about you getting your commercial pilot license. I believe you will do great. My dad was a 3 mil miler with Delta and I had over 500,000 with Delta. We both flew with several different airlines all over the world.

That’s when I got married. Felt old enough then. Felt wise. Looking back I didn’t know what in the world I was doing. My wife was far superior at being her than I was at being me.. if that makes senses.

I’m pretty sure I still don’t know what I’m doing. But I’ll have to wait another ten years to figure out if I’m smart or dumb right now. Pretty sure my wife is still smarter though.

Mine are three and one. Two girls. My three year old thinks I’m a big, strong, daddy fixer man. It is a humbling experience. Wouldn’t trade it for anything.
