Haiti and African nations are not world leaders and never have been.

England was the center of the world and was not in jeopardy because some people left. It was not a country needing built.

This comparison you are trying makes no sense.

Really? Ireland, Wales, Scotland, Norway, Finland, Poland, anything in Eastern Europe (sorry not sorry), Greece, etc. Its not one big Utopia. we succeeded on their cast offs. doesn't matter what the country itself was doing, it matters what the individual was experiencing within it. The south going thru an economic boom doesn't inherently make inner city Detroit a better place. me drinking clean water doesn't help Flint Michigan. just because a country might be great doesn't make the individual pieces of it great.

I made a point, you disagreed. Fine.

But a rebuttal using Europe in comparison to the likes of Haiti, is just asinine. I am discussing building the culture, governments, infrastructure, etc. Needed for a country to thrive. Europe and Haiti were/Are in different galaxies.

The press should find some Haitians living in the U.S. who are well-educated, law abiding members of the workforce who are also fully assimilated into American culture. That, more than anything, would show Trump that immigrants should be evaluated on a meritocracy rather than on the quality of their place of origin (which they had no control over).

Trump didn't just call Haiti a 's***hole country', he wondered aloud why we want immigrants from Haiti. That is elitism.

Biggest difference between now and then, no social safety net. Immigrants who braved the journey to America back then were on the sink or swim plan, no government programs to bail them out.

Also you still haven't answered the question as to why 3rd worlders should get preferential treatment over 1st worlders.

not their IQ, their testing abilities. I do really really well at standardized tests because I have taken crap of them and I have been coached. my IQ may not go up or down, but my tests scores will fluctuate. if I retake that test and always choose the same answer location (top left for instance) my score test would plummet. In your world I would then be "retarded". except that it wouldn't, means I did crappy on a test.

people do different things better than others. test taking is one of those.

even looking at standardized tests will show you that you can be smart and still do bad in certain areas. I will use myself as an example. My ACT score was a 31 as a composite. seems pretty good. you break it down my scores were something like 36 in math, 34 in science, 33 Reading, 15 English. I am/was top 5% in most of those categories, then that last one I am barely a Neanderthal.

what does it mean for me as an individual that my English score was low? Not a dang thing except for how well I can type/write. This test was just patterns.

a test can only tell you as much as is in it. that one was certainly no end all be all.
