Funny story about that...

When I was returning from vacation and heading out of Asheville, I struck up a conversation with the lady next to me on the plane. She informed me she was returning from vacation as well and "on my way back to Haiti."

Before I could even put my brain into gear, my first comment was "why?" I managed to catch myself by saying "I mean, what are you heading there to do?"

Apparently, she was down there teaching or something along those lines. But did say it "sucked" only being able to shower once every two weeks.

But as a reminder, it's not a **** hole.

That has absolutely NOTHING to do with the merits of those immigrants and what they either can or can't contribute to our country if permitted to start a new life here. It is ignorant of Trump to hold their place of origin against them. In Trump's comments, I saw a President who did not mention their merits but instead focused only on where they were from (an entire freaking continent was excluded for God's sake)...and like I said, I don't think it's a coincidence that the only country he singled out as an acceptable place of origin is predominantly white.

If you would just stop at this racism inferring , then I could agree with your point. I would also see your point if this came from Trump and not from some "anonymous source" who is "leaking" it. This is the type of **** that desensitizes people to the issues of racism......inferring it on a level such as this.

I've been to Haiti. I've been to multiple African countries. I've been to Scandinavia.

Trump is 100% correct. Haiti and Africa are as he said.

It's great to see the mainstream media finally calling Trump a "racist" today after his "****hole countries" remark. If only the media had been willing to call Trump a "racist" back when he launched his campaign by saying Mexicans were all drug dealers and rapists.

Fair enough but it's still missing the point of what makes Trump's comments so inappropriate. Do you feel a prospective immigrant's qualifications for a Visa Program should be evaluated solely on the quality of their place of origin or do you feel an immigrant should be evaluated on such merits as the quality of their education, work experience, English speaking ability, the results of a thorough background check and their willingness to assimilate into American culture? Trump's comments were not only crude but narrow minded.
