Grant Williams is ..............

Maten had 17 pts and 12 rebs! In what universe is that a "horrible night"?

Along with his 12 pts and 6 rebs, Ogbeide had 4 TOs, 4 fouls, 0 blocks, and 0 steals. Beast on D? That's what you want out of starting PF?

The box score of a single game can tell a very misleading story. You can alter 10 shots and get 0 blocks or you can get 2 blocks and those are your only alters...which is the better game?

Season averages can tell a pretty accurate story but individual box scores are much less accurate.

Maten is 2 years older and he's a little bit better this season, but career per minute average productivity is basically a wash.

Per 40 career, who is who?

21.1 p, 9.3r, 2.1a, 1.1s, 2.8b, 3.0to
21.0 p, 10.1r, 1.4a, 0.7s, 2.3b, 3.7to

The argument was about the Wooden award this year. Not career numbers or who would have the better career.

Per 40 is a very flawed stat.

Also, I don’t think anyone is saying GW as a senior won’t be the better player, but right now I think just about everyone across he country would go with Maten.

If a guy plays 2 minutes per game and only has 100 minutes, yeah. But for guys that have played serious minutes, it's the best way to compare them.

The funny thing is, we can switch to per game averages and it won't change a thing because they both average 26.6 MPG.

I'm not trying to paint a picture of Ogbeide based on one game. Dallas is trying to say he played like some defensive master and that Maten, because he was 5-15 shooting, somehow was a liability. The numbers sure don't say that, and they averages sure as heck don't.

Never said he was a liability. He has people around him that can pick up the slack.

Well, how should I interpret the fact that you believe Georgia hung tough with UK in spite of Maten going 5-15 (ignoring the fact he still led the team in minutes, points, rebounds, and blocks)?

I mean, that sounds as if you are implying his poor shooting cost them the game.

No. Just saying, he shot poorly but they still hung close. They didn’t need him that night.

Good grief, Dallas. They lost the game, yet didn't need their leading scorer and rebounder??? That may be the single dumbest thing you've said here, maybe ever. Certainly in this conversation. We're done here.

Lol. Ok. Whatever.

Their per game numbers this season are not the same

Personally, I don’t think Williams has the size to play his forward position in the NBA.

I think he’s one hell of a college player but sometimes player’s skill set doesn’t translate to the NBA.

Williams is a smart kid. If not the NBA, he could definitely use his brains to land a great paying job in the future.

Either way, he’ll be successful.
