I agree. KY doesn't even list a center on their roster. Their tallest player is 6-11, 240 and he's listed as a forward. The positions on the floor are about skill set and body type. Kyle doesn't have the body type or the skill set to be a five. They may call him a five but he's not a five.
Some people will fight over anything. How is it even an argument about Kyle Alexander position? It simple end of discussion that the guy is a 4/5 regardless of team or league. He doesn't have PG skills. He doesn't have SG skills. He doesn't have SF skills. He is simply a post player at the PF or C position. He is there for athleticism, rebounding, put backs, and shot blocking. He isn't a finished product but has improved every year. Solid player this year after not being much of a factor the first two.

I will say eye test u could tell ky was all freshmen...long and skinny...our guys may not have the height but were more physical.
Key here to me is Kyle is OUR five but he needs to get bigger and stronger to compete against other big guys as a true post up 5. If not, its up to the coach to scheme with what he has.
This was my second observation from last night: the BasketVols are skinny. Maybe one guy (Admiral) is optimum thickness. Lots of skinny kids out there, including Fulkerson. No way he should still be that slight. Hopefully the new S&C regime will help add weight to the kids for next year.
Tennessee doesn't play a true 5. Obviously Grant and Kyle are our starting forwards, and if you were forced to put labels on them 1-5, I'd say Kyle is the 5 simply because Grant can step out and play outside. He has that skill set and Kyle doesn't.
