ESPN - Rivalry predictions: Seven in a row for Auburn - SEC

1. Auburn 23, Alabama 21: Tommy Tuberville makes it seven in a row over Alabama and holds up seven fingers as he leaves the Bryant-Denny Stadium field.

2. Tennessee 21, Alabama 17: The Vols do just enough to win, and Phillip Fulmer gives his deposition afterward to Alabama attorneys while sitting in the checkerboard end zones at Neyland Stadium.

3. Florida 34, Georgia 31: Percy Harvin runs for two touchdowns and catches another one in a back-and-forth classic that goes down to the final minutes. The only thing better than the game is the Gators' victory dance.

4. LSU 31, Alabama 14: This time, a bunch of Les Miles recruits lead the way for the Tigers in hammering the Tide. Nick Saban returns to the bus he came to the stadium on only to find the tires all flattened.

5. Tennessee 28, Florida 24: Fulmer ends his drought against Urban Meyer thanks to an interception return for a touchdown by Eric Berry that turns the game around in the third quarter.

Low has us over Bama and Florida! Kind of surprised. Did he pick us as SEC East champs?

Looks pretty nice for UT. However I think Alabama beats one of LSU or Auburn for sure, probably Auburn. Bama will be a good team by the end of the year, and I think they have a good shot to win the west. No way we lose to them in Neyland though, not after last year and what has transpired the past few days. Also I'm not so sure about our game with Florida, how could you be after last year? lol. But if we do win that game I see a letdown the next week at Auburn. I just don't see us getting through both of those games without a loss. If we do, we will more than likely be in Atlanta come December.

I like, I like. I agree, Bama does beat Auburn this year. Since owning Bama for a decade, our rivalry has gone to the home team the last 4 years. This year its at Neyland, we are a better team, and paybacks are hell.

As far as UF, our past two meetings at Neyland have been within a fieldgoal. The Clawson factor, special teams, and Eric Berry will provide a narrow win.

I believe Lowe is right with the Florida game but I think we are going to whip up on Alabama. JPW is gonna watch most of the game from his backside. He scrambles way to much and we have some really fast D ends and Outside Linebackers this year. So I vision JPW throwing a couple picks and getting sacked a bunch of times.

I would like to see Tim Tebow Run a option and watch Eric Berry take his F'N head off!!! Then someone like Willingham pick up the fumble and take it to the house for the win!!!! Can you imagine what the Front page of the paper would be if that happened. It would be TIM TEBOW GETS ROCKED AT ROCKY TOP!! With a Picture of Eric Berry standing over him after the hit!!!!!! :D

Is that not exactly what all the experts said last year? And yet they actually got worse as the year progressed. You would think with the greatest coach to ever draw breath that they would have gotten better not worse as the year went on. I don't see them anywhere near the top. If they are lucky they might finish 3rd in the west. But I think Aub, LSU, Miss, then bammer.

I know a most people thought Alabama would be stronger towards the end of last year then they were, but nobody picked them to have a great year overall. But this year its almost inevitable that they will have at least a pretty good team, with the types of recruits they're getting. I can promise you they won't be losing to anymore directional Louisiana teams anytime soon. It takes a year to adjust, but they should be near the top of the west for '08.

LSU will plant Wilson so many times in the ground he will take up roots. Auburn will hold up seven fingers and either Ole Miss or Ms State will beat them again. They are thin on Defense and JPW is not a very good qb. They have just an average running game at best and their special teams is far from special. So I dont see it at all.

I agree, while alabama's great '08 recruiting class will only be freshman this year the returning squad with a year of saban tyranny under their belt have nowhere to go but up.

I don't see us crushing them, fulmer has never crushed a saban team... shoot, we lost to saban's worst team we've faced (LSU 2000), and drew even (1-1, including a 1 score win at home) in 2001 when we had a much much more talented squad. Last year we had a better team and we were humiliated.

Based on the history... and including fulmer's motivations... I agree with Low that we will win a close one.

I'll stick with the fact that his team got worse as the year wore on. No way to argue that. They got a lot worse.

I don't know about that. Alabama's O-line looks to be pretty good this year, with a lot of experience and guys like Andre Smith and Antoine Caldwell. Like it or not JPW is experienced, and is decent enough to play QB in the SEC (as he proved against us). They have two solid RB's who are experienced. Their defense was pretty solid most of last year and they return a lot of experienced guys from that group. Their biggest weakness will be at WR most likely, but a 5* guy like Julio Jones could make an imediate impact there. Also Saban is still a good coach. LSU lost a lot of leadership, and has a lot more questions to answer than Alabama. That is why I think Bama has a good shot to win the west.

We will just have to disagree. I think they played over thier heads last year against us and we played terrible. I their LB corp is very suspect and I do not think JPW is a good SEC qb and I would not be surprised to see him sitting before the season ends. Remember last year there was talk about him having to sit. There are guys coming into the LSU front 4 that may be as good as Dorsey was. They will be a beast on Defense. I will grant that on Offense there is a HUGE ? and that is why I have Aub winning the west. Not great at either side of the ball but very, very solid on both.

Yes I agree on last year. They did play over their heads, and we played awful. But this Alabama team will be a lot different from last year with another year of experience under Saban. You are right in that they do have a question at LB but McClain is very solid. I agree with you for the most part on Auburn as well. I think the west will be decided at the iron bowl. I just have Alabama taking it this year. LSU could very easily finish 3rd in the division this year if they aren't careful.

You gotta remeber that LSU lost lots of leadership the year before last and they still managed to win the NC. Not saying they will be near as good as last year but you cannot count them out. Perrilloux will be a big blow to their chances in my opinion.
While Bama will not blow another given I see the as in decent, but still probably 3rd in the west. They are very young, and while the youth may have incredible talent, traveling to Athens, Knoxville, and Baton Rouge your freshman year would be tough. I see them loosing all three of those. I also think they will pull out an upset against Auburn but drop one to either Miss St (who has their number and returns essentially everyone) or Ole Miss (who recruited well and picks up a decent coach). This will put Bama at 4 SEC losses.

Even if bama somehow holds serve at home they are still gonna have 3 SEC losses. Not enough to win with Auburn, LSU, and an underrated Miss St.

Yeah he would not get knocked out, but Berry could tackle him. Do you remember when they played Florida State two years ago? Thats the only Tebow play I can remember that he got layed out. It may have been Timmons? Ernie Sims was gone by then I think, but I dunno its been awhile. I do not see anyone on our team right now making that kind of hit though.
