Will the Steelers keep Dobbs?

Somewhat surprised by their decision to rest their starters when home field advantage throughout playoffs is still in play. Perhaps they feel they can beat the Browns without their studs.

This. They signed him to a 4 year, $3M deal with approx $500k signing bonus. He’s gonna be around for awhile unless they work out a trade, in which case he will still be around just on a different team.

He could be traded and then that team could release him.

Plus, that contract is nothing to NFL teams. It's the guaranteed money that's worth something.

Landry Jones, according to one article in March 2017, had a 2 year contract worth 4.4 million with 600k guaranteed and they were willing to make him 3rd stringer...but I don't think Dobbs panned out how they hoped for.

Because of the rape allegations?

No not because of that. In the past 10 years have you not noticed that some boarder line players have made it to the NFL? Does Jason Taylor or Terrell Davis with his short career really deserve to be in The Hall of Fame?
They were good players but I would not say they should be in HOF

As I said in another post...I do not expect Dobbs to be with the Steelers next year. Not even sure he will ever make it in the NFL....
As a new draft is coming up there will be QB's that may be able to step in now and are ahead of Dobbs before they are even drafted....Its not good being counted as the 3rd stringer....and as some news stories have indicated, they believe Josh Dobbs has a very long way to go before ever stepping in to a full time job....if you can't place the ball and dont have touch then you dont get many chances to be on a team...maybe Canadian league will suit him better...

Past, present, and future all exist simultaneously.

All we are doing right now is marking the passage of time.

What will happen has already happened.

I think this scenario actually applies to Jones. Give him a game and hope he plays decent so they can maybe trade him or see enough of him to move on in the off season.

I think it will interesting to see how short or long of a leash that Landry has... That should give you some insight into how they view Dobbs as a legitimate option.

Highly doubt Dobbs amounts to much more than Geno Smith. Career back-up type. Nothing to be ashamed of either.

You never know, Tyler Bray has been with the chiefs for 5 years and never taken a snap in a regular season game.

Shoot, I'd take 5 years at league minimum and a pension from the NFLPA all day and twice on Sunday.

Move home to coach high school and call it a career, brother.
