'18 JUCO OG Johncarlo Valentin

Someone share an actual story that illustrates what you all are talking about.

Jack Jones sustained multiple stingers in the Florida game. Jack complained about the pain, Butch chided him and called him something vulgar. He continued to berate Jack to the point Jack was emotionally spent.

His dad had to come to Knoxville because his son was distraught; his head coach was wrecking him. Jack isn't soft by any stretch. Once healed Butch gave his starting spot to someone else just to mess with him.

Blessing in disguise for Jack. He could have done irreparable damage had he kept playing. The neck injury is very real.

This makes me very sad. Jack Jones is one of the kids I really pulled for.

You just don't quit.

Depends on the circumstances. You might not guess from my posts here :) but I have a hard time quitting anything. But there's always a point where you just can't go any further.

I don't claim to know all of the issues with Jones. But more than one player alluded to him being untrustworthy.

Boulware seems to be a kid who did what was asked of him. Played well when given the opportunity... but then found himself not getting his shot even when Jack Jones was playing horribly in front of him. As it turns out, Jones wouldn't have a had a choice but to play VB within 3 weeks of him quitting... but he had no way of knowing that he wasn't just wasting his time and effort when he walked away.

Those same players that wanted Lawson fired? I have my sources and my opinion. There are so many that out right lie about things that it's why I never say anything about what I know.

JRM was one...correct?

Did this also contribute to us having to pay out a lot of hush money to settle the Title IX lawsuit also?

Check engineervols post. He was injured to the point where he lost feeling/use of his arms. Doctors told him it would cause irreparable damage and hinder his quality of life

I personally thought Drae was a bi+#€ and the situation was way overblown.

I was wrong. Just want to make that public.

So did I, but the good Lord made me eat my words about Drae. I had class with him at UTC and I’ve never met a nicer guy. He was a joy to be around every single day. He’s one of those guys that just gives off a vibe to the whole room and is always smiling and laughing.

Probably a stupid question, but did you get to know him? He ever talk about the situation?

I feel bad because we all got the vibe he was a great guy, but when this situation came up, we all bought in that he was in the wrong. Not sure if all the details, but I agree, the crow has been eaten.

See how he acts after you bag his girlfriend.

I never brought it up. I mentioned Tennessee football briefly and told him I was a fan but that was it. We spoke a decent bit. Funny story, the job I currently have (my first job out of college) I got because of knowing him. He got hired where I work and recommended me for an interview and I got a job there. He ended up not working there by the time graduation rolled around but I’m still there
