'18 TN OL/DL Cade Mays (Transfer)

How many recruiting letters for athletics did your kids receive in the mail? How many emails from coaches? How many campus visits to discuss their athletic prowess with coaching staff? Walk a mile or so in their moccasins first. I'll trust Coach Pruitt to take care of this. You've got grown kids and you're acting like one of them. Come on dude! Grow up! Holding kids hostage for doing kids stuff while they're kids. You guys take the cake!

What's more, he's got a brother that's got a decision to make in a year or so. Might as well scorch that earth too.

Is that you Rod Wilks?

This is the first time I’ve opened this thread since he signed. Why are we so worried about this guy? Like CJP said “let’s worry about the ones we get.” Come on guys! There’s a lot of good prospects still considering the Vols! Mays didn’t want to be here, so let the thread die and move on.

We aren't worried. He can take his fat a$$ to the nation's leader in preseason national titles.

My daughter was recruited to many prominent schools for something other than athletics and one day she will apply for jobs as well. She was not being recruited as an athlete but for musical skills and academics. Prominent schools look at everything. To schools like Columbia it all matters.

Holy cow, this is insane.

Questioning a man's parenting ... for what? He let his son choose freely? His son curses? Might want to step off that high horse and look at this objectively.

Those that do, wouldn't give a sh!t if this was a UGA legacy turned UT commit saying "**** Georgia." As you shouldn't, because this is trivial.

Have y’all seen the video. He is a little bit of a dip ****.

His singing is terrible. I’d be embarrassed by that alone if I was his poor excuse for a father.

Yea, I saw it. I don't get the infatuation with him. Not sure how he warranted his five star rating. All he did was push a bunch of 180# DL around and when he got up against good competition, he got frustrated and got PF penalties? I'm not the least upset he went elsewhere.

Like I said earlier. He’s just another good lineman. He’s not a programmer changer. He’s as likely to be a bust as a success. He could have helped our recruiting rating. Not sure he would have helped the team.

Cade sure has had an up and down career and hasn't even gotten to college yet. When he was committed to us he was best OT in the country who played with a mean streak just like his dad. Now after signs with Georgia fat overrated, plays dirty and has an attitude.

Now for that little video of him singing, why are we more concerned about a Georgia signee singing F Tennessee than we are about a UT signee singing F Tennessee. Then claiming the players will take care of it, isn't that one of the things that orginally got Botch in hot water, letting players handled discipline?

Yeah some are going next level overboard. Sometimes you just can't help if your son becomes a big fat bulldog Turd. Especially when said son is bigger than you and probably thinks he can do what he wants

To everyone who spent the time defending this chump from meaningless injury wishes on an online forum: is that egg on your face, or did Cade give you a nice little gift after further giving the finger to Tennessee?

This kid is trash and every negative post, in earnest or otherwise, was absolutely warranted.

He’s a kid. From a team standpoint, he’s now the enemy but it’s not like he’s a rapist. Just move on.

It’s obviously Pruitt’s fault. Had he not cussed in his visit with the family this would have never happened. Pruitt set a very bad example to this young man./sarcasm

I'm not a fan of the kid, but he has done NOTHING to warrant some ******* IDIOT wishing him to tear his ACLs.

Your name fits you very well..

My last word (I hope) in this recruitment is people do not realize how hard it is to recruit a kid that grew up in the shadow of a university. Kids want something different whether they grew up in a paradise like Hawaii or a dump like Columbus. Its far easier to recruit the state in an area like Nashville because it is a few hours drive and for a kid that is getting away and being their own man while still playing for the state. Who truly wants to go to college in the town they grew up in? That would suck. A man needs to blaze his own trail. I do not fault Cade, nor Tee for wanting something different, heck I bet I would too if I was raised here. Cade picking Georgia is kinda nasty but hey, its only football so whatever just expect the Vols to come after him a little harder when he finally sees the field.

In conclusion, I want Volunteers if they are from Tennessee great, if not, great. I do not expect a Knoxville kid, especially a blue chip prospect who has offers from everywhere, to stay in the town he grew up in to experience college. Newt out.
