D4H's 2017 NFL Draft Review (Best Picks, Best Drafts, and Predictions)

No because this is where time comes into play. It's one thing to change your mind after having another position early on. It's another to backtrack.

I don't backtrack.

Wait, so, this whole thing in the last few posts is yoooouuuuu BACKTRACKED .. you call it change your mind, you can call re-evaluated your picks or whatever .. all the same thing.

When was Dobbs ever as good as Watson let alone better

High school? No

College? Hell no

Rookie year? LOL

His love affair with Dobbs proves he's really just a fanboy with Dobbs posters still hanging in his room. Dobbs was a good college QB. He wasn't great, he was good. NFL level talent .. nah

I could make a lot of money just picking the opposite of what D4H does.

I could have a team with Goff, Hunt, Marshon Lattimore, Barnett, Reuben Foster, Landon Collins, Cam Robinson, Joey Bosa just from the last couple draft classes.

Meanwhile I’d be going up against his team featuring Brad Kaaya chucking it to Corey Davis and handing off to Kelvin Taylor.

Also on the outside you’d have Cam Sutton trying to check Amari Cooper.

Heck of a rookie squad you have there ..:)

If you wanna know how much better my game predictions are now just watch this. Here are the 4 bowl games I'm most confident about:

1. Georgia over Oklahoma
2. USC over Ohio State
3. Washington over Penn State
4. Central Florida over Auburn

And 3 of the 4 winners I picked are underdogs. And my only favorite (Georgia) is barely a favorite over Oklahoma.

These 4 games are my lead pipe locks of bowl season.

You were right on fewer than half of your preseason picks.

When did I say they didn't have to be good in college? I said they weren't considered the best. Tom Brady was good in college but he didn't have the hype around him in college which is why he fell to the 6th round.

And if you are trying to imply Dobbs wasn't good in college, think again. This past year should be proof of just how good Dobbs was at Tennessee. With Dobbs, the Vols scored a school record for points last season. Tennessee led the SEC in offensive TDs scored. Dobbs also broke the school record for TDs in a season One year later without Dobbs and they had a run of nearly a month without an offensive touchdown. And the 2017 Vols were last in the SEC in almost every offensive category.

If 2017 didn't prove how GREAT Josh Dobbs was at Tennessee, I don't know what would.
Winning 8 or 9 games is not great no matter how you slice it

Esp when it takes the bowl game to get to 9

Then why are we all posting on a message board instead?

Let's read too much into it shall we? Maybe because we all didn't spend the last 4 years playing QB at an SEC school .. but the point is OBVIOUSLY that he hasn't shown to have the talent to start in the NFL and play at a high level.

This is what sucks about message boards. You can change your view on something for months but people will pick out an earlier post to try and make you look like a hypocrite.

For the record, I made that post in April after the draft. I changed my pick to Watson in August during the preseason. I made this post on page 30 of this thread:

I pretty much predicted Watson's rookie season right here. I said he would shine brightly early on like Vince Young who won rookie of the year. But then it fell apart due to injury. Just as I said many times before.

I've been saying Watson would have a Vince Young like rookie year since August and the NFL preseason.
Which is why people cant stand you. You predict things and then just change your predictions as things unfold and claim you were right all along.

I’d bet money Watson comes back next year and has a strong year

Rg3 and Vince young will turn out to be horrible short sighted comparisons for him

Watson >>>>>> VY. VY didn’t light the world on fire as a rookie

I’m not going to go as far as saying that Goff is a superior talent to Prescott, but it’s apparent that he’s a more sophisticated passer. Dak has special intangibles that make him elite imo. Along with Wentz, we have 3 QB’s from last year’s rookie class that can be THE reason you win games. For those too young to have actually watched Elway and Marino in real time, that’s FRANCHISE QB’s from the same class. :wink2:

I don’t think Dak is ever going to be a guy that goes and wins you games. Those players are the elite ones and I don’t think he’ll ever be more than just good

Dak makes very few mistakes. He’s like if Russell Wilson played more in structure. I’m lower on Goff than you though, he may have passing ability but he does so much dumb ****

62% passer with only 7 ints says otherwise to me. Especially compared to Dak’s 13.

It is when the very next year after Dobbs is gone the team suffers it's worst season in program history after 2 consecutive top 25 seasons with Dobbs.

It's obvious now that Dobbs carried Tennessee on his back in 2015 and 2016. And we saw this year just how bad Butch Jones is without Dobbs there to save him.

Tennessee's collapse in 2017 proves Dobbs was GREAT.

He kinda did. He just did it running rather than passing.

Did you forget how epic his run against the Texans was?

I was a huge Titans fan back then so I remember that season vividly. Tennessee was dead early while Vince was on the bench. Then he became the starter and set the league on fire. I believe he even made it onto the cover of Sports Illustrated as everyone was saying he looked in the NFL just like he did in college.

Vince Young in 2006 was a big deal. He was a pro bowler as a rookie for a reason. He played incredibly well.

Dobbs carried Butch's offense with his ability to scramble out of busted plays, not because of his QB skills.

Funny how when a black QB scrambles it's not QB skills however when a white QB like Aaron Rodgers does it, it's what make him the best of all time.

Scrambling and making plays when there is nothing there is a QB skill. It's what separates the good from the great ala Aaron Rodgers.
