The Official 2nd Amendment Appreciation Thread

Yeah, this is probably the most glaring gap in my "National Defense Policy"; I'm not set up for a low-light engagement. I know I need to address it, but the RIA has standard 1911 sights, so what do I do about that Godawful front blade? My Glock has the standard white "ball in a cup" sights. There is a Telluric facility here that can change the 30S over to night sights, but I can't make my mind up on what I want. Three dot? And while you can change out the front blade (and rear) on the SA, it's just so doggone gorgeous that all I can make myself do is leave the Hogue grips on it.

And yes, I've heard Novak's are well worth the money. Thanks for the advice.

Meopro has good ones as well. But be careful to make sure the sights you get will fit. Not all 1911 sights are the same

That's why I'm tempted to just bite the bullet and take my RIA to Telluric and tell them to put me a good set of low-lights on it. Expensive option, but I know I'll get a good product, and good gun work.

That's a couple of months away. Wautash is on "gun probation" according to the long-haired mess cook. And I usually fall asleep before she does, so.....

How did I know you would have a classic revolver with pearl grips, and a gold trigger / hammer.

Are you related to Kate from "Tombstone"?

FYI, I'm only asking on behalf of Grand Vol.

:)

I thought about making the Patton quip, but decided to refrain.

Any recommendations on a quality 44 snub. I really like the SW 629 but do any of yall have any other suggestions? Anyone know anything about the Ruger Redhawk or Taurus 2inch?

If you're considering being serious about your loads I'm thinking Ruger Alaskan. If you're expecting mostly tamer magnums and spcls I like the Smith's aesthetics better.

I like my ruger super Blackhawk with a 3.75” barrel. The Bisley grip frame helps where recoil is concerned. I mainly run Buffalo Bore 255 grain specials through it.

If you have to have a double action, the smith 629 is hard to beat. Just keep in mind you can’t run the really heavy magnums through it.
