Recruiting Forum Football Talk LIII

I disagree. He lost the team after UGA...maybe before. Pumpers Negavols...we’re all right at the same time. :dunno:

Everybody is entitled to their opinion. Agree to disagree.

You say he lost the team after UGA. Supporters of still going to games say you should for the players - stand with the players. Yet, the players gave up on the coaches and on the field. You could tell from the effort most of them gave. So fans should still go and pay hard earned money to watch players that have quit on their coaches and program - and as a result the fans?

Nah.

Ya, #emptyneyland had Currie so scared he ran out and tried to sneak Schiano through the back door. Empty Neyland was nothing but an attempt by a couple internet warriors to feel like they had some input into the program, and it failed miserably.

He was just doing what Haslam put him there to do. Maybe he should have been more scared.

I agree. I see the "reVolt" against Schiano and #emptyNeyland as two different things. Butch may not have been technically done after UGA, but his fate was sealed after USC and UK. He was done, and tickets had already been sold.

I don't mind the heat we get for blocking Schiano.

Nah.

The effort was there to beat USC and UK. Our guys were so poorly developed that it looked dysfunctional. Even with dysfunction, we were two plays away from beating those two teams. Effort got worse as the season went on when it was obvious that Butch was going to be out. That's JMO. I just don't believe that #emptyNeyland had any effect on Haslam or Currie's decision for a new hire. It was all about the current situation, and Butch was done regardless.

But #emptyNeyland wasn't changing what Haslam was doing. #emptyNeyland was about Butch Jones, not the new hire. Butch was done at that point.

I’m indifferent about the whole #emptyNeyland thing, but there were media people that said Butch could have kept his job after UGA by winning out except for LSU.

That “agree to disagree” thing? Let’s do that again. I’m a fan of the team. I don’t cotton to punishing them for not displaying enough perceived passion. Enough people seemed to agree with me with said hard earned money. :)

Going to pull myself out of the Jones/Currie/Schiano/Haslam mess and never mention it again. I'm too much of a sunshine pumper for CJP and Phil as AD to waste any more time on it. Radical times call for radical measures to effect positive change. It happened and we are on the right road to better days.

How can you be a sunshine pumper at a time like this? We are in a crisis. UGA had a better early signing period than we did and our new coach was supposed to be some recruiting guru. All hope is lost.

Still agree to disagree and have moved on. Have too many arrow wound scars in the back to much care. My money is on people that have passion and pride for what they are doing.

lol. They will be the first ones saying they called it when JCP/staff get it done.

I am excited to finally see real football being played at UT again. It has been a long time.

I can’t wait. Already planning on taking my son up to the O&W game. Curious to see how they handle it this year.

It’s crazy to think that it’s been so long since we have had real football coaches that know the game inside and out. I’m excited to see how they use the players.
