And another one from AV:

We will finish in the top 10 in the final recruiting rankings in February and the whole basis of this post will be rendered irrelevant.
I concur here.

this staff is light years ahead on the recruiting part of the game as well as the evaluation of talent for long term sustainability of the program.

can’t tell you how hard these guys are busting their tails on recruiting right now.

Another power-play unfolds as Anderson and John “Thunder” Thornton convince Phillip Fulmer to please rescue his alma mater; Fulmer, per no less than 12 sources, does not seek out the job, but agrees to take over UT’s coaching search and assume the A.D. role. The Haslam camp, per sources, seeks instead to instill Currie’s No. 2, Reid Sigmon, into the top spot.

This speaks volumes!

Seriously sounds like Currie was flying around everywhere telling coaches 'PLEASE COACH FOR ME BEFORE I LOSE MY JOB'. And everyone was like 'wtf, I don't think I want any part of this.' Except Leach. He was like '****, I ain't even signed yet and I got this dumbass over a barrel.'

Y'all, I gotta get some things out of my system, so I'm going to do it here cause you don't know me :) This has been the ****tiest year OF MY LIFE. My dad has cancer and his heart is failing...my hubby passed on to Heaven in May at 46..and today, my daughter was in a bad car wreck. She is going to be ok, but OMG when I got that phone call! Here it is Christmas season and I come home to an empty, quiet home. It gets to me - A LOT.

sorry, I just had to get personal for a few minutes and let it out!!! My dad doesn't want anyone to know about his cancer, so we can't say anything...

I know everyone has issues, but ****, I just needed to vent for a sec. I feel like I have to hold it in all the time, so.....thanks for listening or reading or just scrolling by. :)

Carry on!
Ten years ago, about your same age too, I experienced a Christmas just like yours. Ten years later it is still the worst Christmas, but because every Christmas after has been wonderful. You will always have the scars, but the reason they are scars is GOD and time have healed the wounds.

"As far as damage to the Tennessee brand, what’s more damaging, going 4-8 in 2017 with a veteran football team or saying ‘hell no’ to SchiaNO?,” Basilio asks. “Even after the Haslam/Currie debacle that ultimately led to the Tennessee Tea Party, the Tennessee brand might be stronger than ever. Tennessee remains one of 18 schools where it’s still possible to win a National Championship."

This part sat particularly well with me ...

I have a question about the Austin Thomas hire, is CJP responsible for hiring him or would the AD make the call. Is Austin Thomas's job part of the football staff or more administrative?...just curious.

This hire was in the works for a while. He will have some administrative duties but make no mistake, his true value is in evaluating player talent and signing them to the dotted line. He relates very well to the players as he is pretty young himself. The problem lies in whether UT will want him face to face recruiting vs watching tape etc. They can only have a certain number of staff doing face to face visits. One of the coaches may have to relinquish home/school visits. Not a problem until all the coaches have been hired. Same for Fulmer.

Something I have been curious about is whether the 9-coach limit is static. For instance, if I have a non-coach analyst who played HS ball at a particular school that has a big time prospect who I am not getting traction with, can I temporarily pull one of my nine off the road and temporarily let my non-coach analyst go home and work his connections?

I don't think we have LJS in Nashville area at this time. I may have only been there once as a kid but I still remember getting a paper pirate hat and my meal served in a little cardboard treasure chest.

This thread is dying a slow, lonely death. Each day has gotten increasingly slower. Sad to see, if I'm being honest.
