Where did life begin? (Merged)

Do you believe we have a creator, aka "God"?

I also have a relative / neighbor that works on the Sabbath and is a homosexual. Should I kill him twice (as authorized in Leviticus) or will a single killing suffice?

That depends
Are you an appointed judge of Israel?

I’m going to assume not and say no. You’re not authorized to carry out any judgment listed in Torah.

This is why you can’t be taken serious.. you would rather mock than have a conversation about something that everyone (most) in here are engaging in.

Fraildick move...

My question was asked and answered. Do my questions make you uncomfortable? I find it interesting that some folks are completely open to trashing someone's personal political beliefs but bristle at the notion of having to talk about, defend or discuss their personal religious beliefs.

He fears anything he doesnt understand. But Septic is good people.

I'm curious about what you think I dont understand. I was indoctrinated as a child and attended a small west Tennessee Southern Baptist Convention church for about 16 years, complete with years of vacation bible school, Sunday school, Wednesday potlucks, the whole shooting match.

I fully understand.

Being a Christian is not about religion, it's about a relationship.

One of the first things I would encourage a non-believer to investigate is the distinction between the Old Covenant and the New Covenant (Jewish Law, atonement for sin, the resurrection of Jesus). These two distinct topics are oft misunderstood and misrepresented, and are used to drive a contradictory narrative. The Bible has not a single contradiction.

God bless you all.

If you reject the law/Torah then you reject and don’t know Messiah.
That’s just taking Him at His word and not my opinion.
In Mathew 7:21-23 Messiah describes the time of judgment when “many” Christians are cast out. These are people who thought they were in good shape with the Lord. Why are they cast out? They are “lawless” and He doesn’t know them.

That should scare the Hell (literally) out of every Christian that spouts judgment at others. You really should focus on yourself and your path before G-d. Encourage others to seek G-d and let them find Him. But please stop telling them they’re going to Hell if they don’t believe exactly as you do.
Because judging by Mathew 7:21-23 a lot of Christians are going to be right there in Hell with them.

Would love to pick your brain over lunch sometime.

This leads me to believe that the death penalty is appropriate for those crimes provided a judge of Israel is there for the conviction and act.

What made you want to give up on your church?

No such thing as eternal life in punishment for mortals. Scripture is clear it’s either eternal life or death

Lk16:19-31, Mt 25:46 but these shall go into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into life eternal.

Read Rev21:8 kjv
All sin carries the death penalty for mankind, but Jesus Christ tasted death for all men if they would simply receive it by faith and trust what he did on the cross to be sufficient for their sins.
God made it so simple that even a child could understand.

Take the famous story of the woman caught in adulterous action brought before Yeshua. As a teacher he was not a judge even though the crowd asked him to be. He could have pointed it out but instead used the law to condemn them all.

And yes the mob didn’t get to deside who to stone. There were judges and trials. Just like now we have a book of laws but Ron Mexico doesn’t get to pull speeders over and write tickets

The sin that will ultimately put sinners in hell, is the wicked sin of unbelief. You can be forgiven of all the others.but to reject God's gift of salvation for you will ultimately put you in hell.

Use your concordance and read it again.
And even if we use the improper “everlasting “ instead of “final” it doesn’t speak to awareness, or still being alive. Death is in fact everlasting

Originally? Sht like this.

Do I understand correctly that youre saying the death penalty is not appropriate because there are no judges of Israel left to determine the crime and sentence?

I was referring to man’s punishment of the offenses rather than eternal, divine punishment that may or may not happen.

No there doesnt seem to be more evidence for random chance. To our knowledge, Earth is the only planet in our solar system that can support carbon based life. Its in the perfect spot in relation to the sun. Any closer or farther and we couldnt survive. Earth has an atmosphere that protects us from solar radiation and space debris. All that happened by random chance? Thats absurd.

My personal opinion is this. I do not understand the reasoning behind what God is doing or has done. I dont think our brains are capable of understanding that. To try and use earthly concepts such as reason and logic to God is simply ridiculous.

Personally, I have seen many miracles that prove the existence of God. I dont need any other proof than that.

Given the sheer size of the observable universe, and the high chance that there are infinite universes beyond our own, it comes down to probabilities.

We are bound to exist at some point since there are near endless possibilities for that existence to occur. That doesn't make us special or unique.

It is just math.

I won’t speak to the appropriateness (is that a word) but ultimately biblical judicial law can not be enforced without proper due process

Says the guy that believes in talking snakes. Lol

Props to you for hanging out and explaining your beliefs.

I think the talking snake is allegory. As in you are not a literal Zeppelin.

However your point still remains as there is a talking donkey and it’s clearly not allegorical

Hell is defined as eternal separation from God after this earthly life. There is no roasting in hell for eternity.

I can truly understand how some of these misconceptions and untruths can sour one one faith. But, one has to discern fact from fiction by digging into the word and doing so with an open heart.

Are you saying that unless one lives by the original Levitical law that one rejects Christ? Jesus did indeed fulfill the law and is the only person ever to have done so. Even while suffering on the cross he told the thief, who presumably up until that time had not been one who lived by the Law, that He would see him in paradise due to his confessed belief in Christ. It seems that there is plenty of room in heaven for people who do not live by the Levitical Law all of their life.

The Bible plainly teaches an everlasting punishment, I can understand that just fine.
