'18 TN OL/DL Cade Mays (Transfer)

His top 3 release said enough. We'll see how much he loves Tennessee soon, since he was this classes 1st commit and all.

Cade Mays is no longer considering UT. If this weren't such a top priority position, and if Fulmer didn't have so much respect for the family, I think UT would be willing to walk away. Cade's brother Cooper is a good kid and UT is already recruiting him, so there's still a chance he'll carry on the VFL legacy.

Where you been? Worried about you.

Yeah we will survive without cade. Just can't make missing on him equal missing on his little brother and Teammate Tucker to where your missing on 3 instead of just 1. So need to be classy

I can't understand the people bashing on Cade in this thread. I'm sure if he did commit here though, you'd all be raving about him, and rightfully so.

This is a major, major decision that is literally going to affect the rest of his life. He's got countless people in his ear, and honestly you can make a compelling argument for any situation/school. Especially the ones he's considering.

Add to it, he's only 18 years old and yeah there's naturally maturity issues when it comes to decision making etc.

I hate that he decommitted. I hope he still ends up a Vol. I personally believe (maybe naively) that he will. If he ends up at Clemson though, I'll be disappointed but there will be zero ill will from me.

This is football to us, and we're just fans. We want him here because he makes us better. But this is life to him. This goes beyond 12 saturdays in the fall.

Yep. The well has been poisoned at Catholic, but there's still time to fix things with Tucker and Cooper Mays. Nasty peer recruiting hurts, but a new staff and winning will help diffuse that.

I don't think it's any ill will from the fanbase, just the "We'll be fine with or without him" theme. He's a local, he's good, and a position of need. If he's that swayed by negative comments, then why did he stay committed so long? Again, he was this classes 1st commit. That should mean something.
