Bingo. Once it started making headlines he decided to apologize. If it was just fans pointing it out he wouldn’t have said anything.

As time goes on, I get more and more disgusted at the job Jones did here. He did some nice things here and there, but overall, he just sucked. It's harsh but I consider him to be an embarrassment to Tennessee football. Thinking about the things he used to say, for instance "only 22% of our roster has played in the swamp", just gets me pissed off. I'm so glad we've washed our hands of Butch Jones and staff, not including Gillespie.

Same here. I could not stand how he played guys out of position or the wrong ones and used that CMU offensive system. Stuck in a time warp the whole time he was here.

When you make a mistake it’s important to own it. @Gmoney_7era is 100% right and I apologize to him. Unfair to Rashaan. I’m sorry. I’m glad you pointed this out man.

Baker mayfield didn't play for Tenn that had issue after issue with discipline that crippled winning at a high level. The man apologized for a mistake and has solid reasoning IMO for making That blunder. Not sure why we can't accept that

Baker Mayfield has had his own personal issue after issue. More than Tennessee players combined.

Like so much of media, sports and otherwise, it's all about the narrative. Oklahoma is one of the best teams in the country and Tennessee is one of the worst, so that's why they make excuses for Mayfield but point to Gaulden as evidence of a lack of discipline.

I'm not surprised that a national guy who apologized to a Vol is getting roasted on VN for not having the right reasons to be sorry or not being contrite enough.
