what is the measure of successful enough to make you happy?

The roster is still light years better than what Butch inherited, and he still won 5 games. We easily have 8 win talent on this team. I'll be happy with 7-5, but if he only wins 5 games that's a huge red flag. IDK how many 4 stars were on our 2013 squad, but it couldn't have been more than 5.

This ^^^^

Not understanding why folks are making excuses.

There is no reason why the talent on this team, if coached correctly, cannot win more games than it loses next year.

Circle 4 games next year. At minimum we should win 8. Those four circled will decide which way our season plays out. I don't think I need to tell anyone who those four teams are.

Haha, have you seen the schedule for next season? This is completely unrealistic for a year 1 coach coming into this mess.

Bama, Auburn and Georgia are the only sure fire losses - would take a miracle to win that I see.

This team is NOT in a mess. Get those players healthy - keep them healthy and we will be okay.

Kirby Smart took a much more talented team against a much weaker SEC East in 2016 and went 7-5 in the regular season.

I would guess 7-5 next year with a top 3 recruiting class - and NEVER EVER EVER LOSE TO VANDY OR KYJELLY

UGA just won the conference and made the playoffs. Their recruiting is outstanding.

Honestly, I think it could be more than a couple of years before either of us can seriously challenge for the division, much less knock them off AND beat 'bama/Auburn west champ. Not to mention what may become of TAMU with Fisher.

Ugh, this is just going to get that much harder moving forward.

Nick Saban wouldn't win 8 games next year as our HC. GTFO.

Don't understand the doom and gloom about next year. Sure we are not going to win the SEC but every game we play next year is winnable minus UGA, Barn, and Bama. No reason we should not have 6-7 wins and get to a lower tier bowl. Butch and his assistants for the most part sucked out loud. There are too many highly rated players left on this roster and it is impossible for all of them to be misses by recruiting services.

Any coach worth a darn should be able to roll out of bed and win 8 games minimum at UF or UT under normal circumstances. Minor rebuilds are required not major for both programs. History shows by year two or three you should know what you have in a coach.

I don't get it either. The roster is still loaded with talent. Where the lack of talent may show up is with the 2018 class unless it is partially saved. That shouldn't impact next year, but either year 2 or 3 - unless 2019 is a top 10 class - then one bad class won't doom us.

No matter what fans say will make them happy, they will want more. That sounds logical to want, but they think a coach can never lose more than the previous year. Five years ago, just recruit some talent, get to a bowl game, and break the Fl streak. Fast forward 5 years, recruiting is better but not developed, going bowling but it is a dumpy bowl, broke the streak but we should be on our own streak. All of these may be true but it will never be enough.

We just went 0-8 in the SEC and finished with 4 healthy scholarship OL. There is a lot of work to do.
