What last hire? Phil has been our AD for the past 6 days.

And we did so well with HC experience the past three times.

This guy has been on several NC teams, he has lived and breathed the SEC all his life. He knows what the stakes are.

Ridiculous that there are supposed Vol fans in here who think anything positive happening for Alabama is a good thing. Equally ridiculous that he's allowed to continue coaching that filth down south and helping them excel when he has a huge amount of work to do here.

Further fracturing the fan base and the presser hasn't even started yet.

Ridiculous that there are Vols Fans who just want to hate on our new hire and leave the fandom because of it.

You gomers are pretty much the only ones fracturing the fan base. I'm not feeling fractured at all. I hope he does well, gets another ring to waive in front of recruits and comes in here and knocks'em dead. You on the other hand are hoping for failure, failure, with a topping of fail sauce.

These fractures could possibly be healed if, you know, the coach was working to do it rather than working to make Alabama a better team. There is no world in which him aiding Alabama helps Tennessee.

The BVS is real and visceral today.

And you think it wouldn't be? Yeah, I don't wear my rings because you know, I wouldn't want you to think that I was any good at what I do or anything. You know we would really like you here at UT but if, you know, you want to go to AL, well I guess, that would be OK, cause I really didn't work hard to get those rings at all. Coach Saban just gave them to me for showing up.

"Look at these rings, I know two have an Alabama A on them and one is Florida State but this is what I can do and have done. Now I want to add some Tennessee rings to this collection and I want you to get one as well. I know I can get us there and I know I can do with you on that team."

Do you not bring up past accomplishments at competitors on your Resume? Cause you know, you wanna show loyalty to the company you're trying to get on with.

Don't be Stupid. You absolutely want to push that you're a championship caliber coach and you know what it takes to get into the big game.

He can build his staff with Fulmer's help, he doesn't have to be in Knoxville 24/7 to do that.

What I don't understand are the people who think he's going to take the next month off from Tennessee to focus on Bama. He's not. I guarantee he started making calls before the ink dried on his contract. Pruitt is not stupid. He knows the work he puts in today will lay the foundation for '18 and beyond. My guess is he's already met the team or will do so after the press conference. Afterwards, he'll likely head straight to Cade's house followed by calls to all of the recruits that are still committed and ones that have decommitted.

Cutcliffe even missed the national championship game because he was hired as Ole Miss head coach. It wasn't like we had won 4 previous either...
