Really Pruitt
He is a jerk
But why not Steele with tee OC. Even
This sux if true.
Cannot stand this guy.
From hoover where he started
No one here has ever liked the guy
Huge ego

Pruitt is a competent coach. You may not like him, but he's competent. And right now, TN needs competent.

In all my years, I think this is the first faulty merge I have witnessed. :D

With 51.5% of the vote, Pruitt squeezes out the win over Leech. So at the end of the day, Currie was going to get us a guy we may have been just as happy with, and who has a history as a head coach. Coach Fulmer, hope you made the right call here :pilot:

I’m a Leach guy. I’m not too disappointed that we ended up with Pruitt.

I do hope Coach Leach gets a bigger opportunity at some point down the road, he’s a great guy and a great coach.

Gators got no room to talk. All that talent in Florida and yall still stunk.

ANd don't say you beat Tennessee because that aint saying much.

My comment was in reference to this thread. There's no comparison between Leach and Pruitt, in my opinion. No need to make it personal.

Bump.

Never understood the fascination by so many on here for Leach.

Dude just got annihilated in his bowl game. Offensive mastermind managed 17 points.

I think people just liked the idea of somebody like Leach without paying much attention to specifics. He'd have been fun for a year or two and then people would notice that we're winning 8 games and still getting our heads kicked in by our rivals.

Personally, I would take Pruitt over Leach every day of the week and twice on Sunday. I like Coach Pruitt's SEC experience vs Leach's non-SEC experience. Also, most of all, I like Coach Pruitt's National Championships.

I like having Leach with my Cougars and glad he didn’t come to UT, but Luke Falk didn’t play and neither did the top two receivers on the season. That kinda hurts a pass happy offense...

Leach would have been Entertaining- I Certainly have not enjoyed how I've been Entertained over the past Decade- I will take Pirates over Mailboxes Everyday & Twice on Saturday

Yeah, the entertainment factor could have been fun for a while; and for whatever reason, a lot of people saw Leach as a "sure thing" hire. In the end, though, we'd definitely have been shopping for a new coach in just a few years. I lost interest in Leach during one of our previous two attempts at hiring a coach.

It's funny how so many people around the SEC can manage to get hung up on the offensive gurus from the defense is optional conferences as a reasonable way to hire a coach. Now the world of football may have passed us by - after all we still have this stubborn belief that defense wins games and therefore championships. But look at bowl match ups, and you see that the west of the Mississippi conferences seem not to do so well when pitted against the east of the Mississippi conferences who apparently know a thing or two about defense.

Over time, flash and dash never stand up well to substance. It's football after all - not an air show, fashion parade, or whatever.

Pruitt. Leach wouldn't have the staff of coaches and recruiters that Pruitt has. Instead of trying to build relationships and credibility with top recruits we have a staff of guys that already have that.

Agree. Pruitt is the much better hire, much better fit than Leach. Leach would’ve brought some excitement because of how he runs his offense, but we’ll get much more substance from JP, primarily because of what you said....his staff/recruiters along with his recruiting prowess.

I don't know if Leach would have worked here. But I do know watching his interviews would have been entertaining. Beats hearing about individuals.

Leach for his 16 yr career is 122-81 .601 WP

Please Please tell me what in the wide wide world of Sports would make you think he would be a good Coach in the SEC.

The "FUN" would not last long.

Is it Cool? Is it Hip? I just don't get it?? But that is just me. Leach would be the last Coach I would hire to turn a program around in the SEC. :hi:
