smart took over a team that was loaded,,,dooley could have took that team to playoffs

I get your point but wouldn't that also imply that Richt would have had them in the playoffs this year?

I'll be interested to see how both UGA and UM do next year.

The fact that you think his payoff is legend status on VN says everything I need to hear.

No offense, but you are pretty clearly missing the forest for all the trees.

Tangible explanations aren't always permitted. Especially in the forum of billionaires and their whims. Denying legitimacy because the cards weren't all played on the table is a fallacy in itself.

He already had borderline legend status before the Schiano news. Of course if Gruden was hired he would have e-celebrity on here that very few have. And yes, that’s my assumed payoff, again, because I believe he is a troll. There is no other payoff to be attained.

And going with that theory - why the Twitter shenanigans? Why the initially private profile where folks had to “request” his acceptance? Why then change it to public? Why follow Houston Kress of all people if you truly have a handle on the inside workings? Why the ranting like a hormonal teenager tagging local media members who you know won’t respond? It’s for an audience. Clearly. And again, if he was for a movement rather than a concrete result (Gruden), why the private Twitter for so long? Only after things clearly fell apart did he open it up for the masses to be able to freely see his information. Were the masses not needed initially? I thought that was his goal, as he has since claimed, to mobilize us in an effort to take out those who have corrupted the University.

From my point of view, it’s clearly online pandering. And if the University is the mess that it’s seeming to be, it would be beyond easy to post what you know without revealing your identity. He wouldn’t even specify what Jim he was talking about for the longest time - Sexton, Haslam, Hyams? (likely intentionally)

It reeks of hollow pageantry. If you don’t see it that way, you’re a much less cynical person than me. And I don’t mean that as an insult however it comes across.

Jeremy Pruitt has reached out to a few potential coaches today in regards to if he takes the Tennessee job. Like one friend just said, Bottom of the 9th, can the Vols pull out the save? -T WALLACE

What if Fulmer is just trolling the bammers 🤔

No offense (to many), but I don't see the cause for all the Beaver hate. The dude is not a magician.

If you don't understand why "these guys don't miss" and "done deal" were both reasonable statements at the time they were made, then I suggest going back to XX-XXIX.

The statements were always made with a view towards optimism and confidence. If you don't have both, you're never going to get a deal done. This is no different than sitting down at a poker table and believing that (1) you can't win and (2) you aren't lucky. If that's the case, just hand your money evenly to the other players at the table and go enjoy the dinner show.

Put that together with what AV said regarding not being able to just throw money at someone. If the guys put a deal together that complied with the terms and requests of the (any) whale, but were ultimately told "no" then there's no blame on the deal makers. You can't do more than make an offer that meets expectations, and hope the other party agrees. What would you expect, kidnapping and coach slavery?

To insinuate that Beaver didn't have a part in all this is ignorant (see, troglodyte). To believe he's a basement dweller is like leaving too many pegs on the triangle game at Cracker Barrel (ignoramus).

Did it play out the way he (we) wanted? Not yet. Does that mean he was fabricating everything? No.

Keep your d*mn vitriol to yourselves. We don't need that mess around here.

Quote for truth.

That's about the only thing that would make me somewhat comfortable with Pruitt. However, why would Tee make a lateral move to here just to coach under a guy with 0 HC experience? Doesn't seem like a smart career move on Tee's part.

$1mil here is a lot bigger than $1mil in Cali

Pay raise and surely it is because he still loves UT.

dont know what was wrong mark..but that team was loaded on both sides..lets what smart does in year 3 and 4

That may be, but if Pruitt is a gigantic bust, Tee won't have $1 million to spend. Plus, why leave a very nice position to come into this toxic environment and not be a) HCIW OR 2) at least learn from a developed/experienced coach? Just a very, very risky move on his part.
